Browns DE Olivier Vernon suffered a ruptured Achilles' tendon in Sunday's win over the Steelers. He'll obviously miss the playoffs and face a challenging offseason rehab. It's particularly poor timing with Vernon set to hit free agency in March -- at age 30. We'll see what 2021 holds.

Browns DE Olivier Vernon (abdomen) and CB Denzel Ward (groin) are active for today's game against the Cowboys. Neither is a high-level IDP option. Ward could be busy, though, against Dallas' high-powered pass offense. Cleveland is expected to start CB Terrance Mitchell opposite Ward, in place of the inactive Greedy Williams (shoulder).

Browns LB Mack Wilson is questionable for Sunday's game against Washington. If he plays, it would be his season debut after missing the 1st 2 weeks with the hyperextended knee he suffered early in training camp. Even if Wilson is active, he'd make for a shaky IDP option. Wilson fill-in Jacob Phillips (knee) is out for the 2nd straight game. CB Greedy Williams (shoulder) has also been ruled out for the 3rd straight game. Fellow starting CB Denzel Ward (groin) is questionable. Ward came down with the injury in Thursday's practice and then sat out Friday, so he looks like a big question mark for the game. His absence would enhance the matchup for Washington lead WR Terry McLaurin. Cleveland has also ruled out DE Olivier Vernon (abdomen), and replacement Adrian Clayborn (hip) is questionable. Clayborn put in just a limited workout Friday after missing the previous 2 days.

Browns DE Olivier Vernon (abdomen) is inactive for tonight's game against the Bengals. That should give veteran DE Adrian Clayborn the start in his place. Cleveland is also missing rookie LB Jacob Phillips, who filled in last week for injured LB Mack Wilson. Overall, this defense shouldn't scare you off any Bengals fantasy options.

Browns DT Sheldon Richardson (back) and DE Olivier Vernon (knee) are active for today's season finale against the Bengals. Richardson looks good for normal IDP usage. Vernon, on the other hand, hasn't played a full game since Week 9. He previously made it through just 10 snaps in a Week 13 attempt at returning from the knee injury. He'd be a high-risk IDP option -- albeit with sack upside.

Browns DT Sheldon Richardson (back) is active for today's game against the Ravens. DE Olivier Vernon (knee) is out once again.

The Browns have ruled DE Olivier Vernon (knee) out for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. Vernon already missed multiple games with the injury. He then played minimal snaps in his return to the lineup. His absence should mean more playing time for Bryan Cox Jr. Chad Thomas is the only Cleveland DE worth a lineup look for fantasy, though.

Browns DE Olivier Vernon (knee) is inactive for today's game against the Bengals. He barely played in last week's return from a 3-game absence for the injury, so Vernon's knee clearly wasn't ready. DE Chad Thomas is the upside IDP play on the Cleveland D-line.

Browns DE Olivier Vernon is questionable for Sunday's game against the Bengals. He put in limited practices Wednesday and Thursday before missing Friday's practice. Vernon barely played in last week's return from his knee injury and doesn't look like a good bet for IDP lineups this week, even if active.

Browns DE Olivier Vernon (knee) is active for today's game against the Steelers. He missed the past 3 games and returns to a lackluster sack matchup. But Vernon's OK for IDP consideration. Cleveland also made the surprising move of making FS Damarious Randall a healthy scratch. Randall reportedly didn't even travel with the team. Scott Petrak of BrownsZone.com writes that "it's likely a disciplinary measure." Juston Burris and Sheldrick Redwine will likely start at safety against the Steelers. Neither is a strong IDP option.

Browns DE Olivier Vernon (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Steelers. He missed the past 3 games with the injury but put in limited practices all this week. We'll check his status Sunday morning.

The Browns have ruled Olivier Vernon (knee) out for Sunday's game against the Dolphins. It'll be the 3rd straight game Vernon has missed for his knee injury. Chad Thomas should continue to start in his place. Chris Smith looks like the other starter. He's a 6th-year veteran with just 8.5 career sacks.

The Browns have ruled DE Olivier Vernon out for Thursday night's game against the Steelers. It'll be the 2nd straight game he has missed with his knee injury. Chad Thomas started in his place last week and delivered a sack, but Pittsburgh presents a negative matchup for pass rushers.

The Browns have ruled DE Olivier Vernon (knee) out for Sunday's game against the Bills. S Damarious Randall (hamstring) is questionable. We'd bet on Randall playing. He finished the week with a full practice on Friday after limited workouts the previous 2 days.

The Giants on Friday traded OLB Olivier Vernon to the Browns for G Kevin Zeitler. That news looks biggest for IDP owners, who could afford to pay Vernon no attention as a LB battling an ankle injury. With Cleveland, Vernon should return to primarily playing 4-3 DE opposite Myles Garrett. That immediately increases his fantasy value and puts him in a potentially nice situation. Vernon figures to jump back into our top 20 D-linemen for 2019.

The Giants have ruled OLB Olivier Vernon (ankle) out once again. He returned to practice this week but still has yet to play this regular season

The Giants have ruled OLB Olivier Vernon (ankle) and CB Eli Apple (groin) out for Sunday’s game against the Saints. Vernon has yet to play this season. Apple will miss his 2nd straight contest. The absences can only add upside to a Saints pass offense that didin’t need the help.
