The Giants have ruled LB Devon Kennard out for Sunday's game against the Niners because of the hamstring game that removed him early from the win at Buffalo. Kennard has played quite well early this season, displaying coverage ability to go with the pass-rushing that he delivered as a rookie. He's worth hanging on to in IDP league's of decent depth. DEs Robert Ayers (hamstring) and George Selvie (calf) will also miss the game, leaving more playing time available to Kerry Wynn, Owa Odighizuwa and Damontre Moore. Wynn looks like the only usable IDP for most fantasy football leagues.
ESPN reports that Giants DE Jason Pierre-Paul parted ways with the team Tuesday without signing his franchise tender. JPP returned for a physical Monday, but the 2 sides reportedly disagreed on his readiness to play. The obvious takeaway here is that the Giants deemed Pierre-Paul unready to return to the field. This situation seems to keep getting worse and makes JPP worth dropping in most redraft IDP leagues at this point. The Giants' D-line, meanwhile, failed to produce any truly buzz-worthy players through training camp and the preseason. DEs Damontre Moore and rookie Owa Odighizuwa look like the best bets for fantasy upside, but you'll need to play in a deep IDP league for either to make sense as a pickup right now.
