Raiders RB Jalen Richard remains on the COVID list and won't play vs. the Chiefs today. With RB Kenyan Drake done for the season, Vegas is down to RBs Josh Jacobs and Peyton Barber. Jacobs, who's averaged 12.8 carries and 5.8 targets over the last 5 games, should continue to see big volume today.

Raiders RB Kenyan Drake broke his ankle in Sunday's loss to Washington and will miss the rest of the season, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Drake has averaged 5.1 carries and 2.6 targets behind Josh Jacobs over the last 8 games, so his absence could mean a few extra touches for Jacobs. RB Jalen Richard landed on the COVID list on Sunday morning, so we'll see when he's cleared to return. RB Peyton Barber also figures to be active for Vegas the rest of the way.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (ankle) is questionable for this weekend’s game vs. Washington. He was added to the injury report on Thursday and limited in the final 2 practices of the week. We don’t have any other details on Jacobs’ status right now. Stay tuned for updates. If Jacobs is unable to play on Sunday, Vegas would likely turn back to Peyton Barber as the lead ball carrier.

Raiders RB Peyton Barber (toe) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Bears. RB Josh Jacobs should dominate carries.

Raiders RB Peyton Barber (toe) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Bears after returning to a limited practice on Friday. It's a surprise after NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Barber was likely to miss a few weeks. He's not a Week 5 fantasy option, but his absence would make RB Josh Jacobs an even safer volume bet.

Raiders RB Peyton Barber has a "mild" case of turf toe, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "He’s still seeking opinions and having tests, but sounds like a few weeks on the sidelines as of now," Rapoport adds. Between this injury and RB Josh Jacobs' return last week, Barber can be dropped from fantasy rosters.

Raiders RB Peyton Barber injured his foot in the 1st quarter of Monday night's game vs. the Chargers and is questionable to return. RB Josh Jacobs got the start but still isn't at 100% with that ankle injury.

Update: Barber returned in the 2nd half.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (ankle) is active for tonight's game against the Chargers. It'll be his first action since Week 1. Jacobs remained limited in practice all week, and HC Jon Gruden hinted that RB Peyton Barber might still be heavily involved even with Jacobs back. We'll see how carries are distributed tonight, but it's a risky fantasy situation.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (ankle) is listed as questionable for Monday night's game vs. the Chargers. He was limited in practice all week. HC Jon Gruden suggested that Jacobs will be a game-time decision. That obviously puts fantasy owners in a tough spot with the late kickoff. Unless we get another update on Sunday morning, you can't have Jacobs or RB Peyton Barber in your starting lineup unless you own both guys.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (ankle) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. He's no longer listed on the injury report with a toe issue. HC Jon Gruden was non-committal when asked about Jacobs' status for Monday night's game vs. the Chargers. "We'll see," Gruden said. "I'd say he's questionable at the moment." Gruden also said this of RB Peyton Barber: "Not going to hesitate to put him in a primary role, after what he did against the Dolphins." We'll see if Jacobs is ready for Monday night and then how Vegas divvies carries.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (toe, ankle) is inactive for today’s game against the Dolphins. That leaves Kenyan Drake and Peyton Barber in Vegas’ backfield again. Drake played 71% of the offensive snaps last week, tallying 7 carries and 6 targets. He’s a RB2 in PPR leagues; a RB3 or flex in non-PPR.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (toe, ankle) is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Dolphins. It’ll be Kenyan Drake and Peyton Barber in Vegas’ backfield again. Drake played 71% of the offensive snaps last week but was out-carried 13 to 7 by Barber. Drake racked up 6 targets, though, and is a borderline RB2 for Week 3.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (toe, ankle) remained sidelined for Wednesday's practice. HC Jon Gruden already called Jacobs "very questionable" for this weekend's game against the Dolphins, so fantasy owners shouldn't be counting on him. With Jacobs out last week, RB Kenyan Drake garnered 7 carries and 6 targets vs. Peyton Barber's 13 carries and 0 targets.

Raiders HC Jon Gruden said Monday that RB Josh Jacobs is "very questionable" for Sunday's game against the Dolphins. Jacobs missed Week 2 with toe and ankle injuries, and his coach doesn't sound optimistic or Week 3, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. That would leave the Vegas backfield to Kenyan Drake and Peyton Barber once again. Drake dominated the playing time at Pittsburgh, 71% to 29%, but each RB drew 13 opportunities. We'd still bet on Drake over Barber in Week 3 if you're making that decision. And we'll certainly be watching Jacobs' status this week.

When asked Friday whether RB Josh Jacobs' absence means a bigger opportunity for RB Kenyan Drake, Raiders HC Jon Gruden instead talked up RB Peyton Barber. "It's an opportunity for Peyton Barber," Gruden said, evidently seriously. "We think he's a heck of a back coming from Tampa. I've had a chance to really get behind the scenes on him. I like the way he runs and catches and picks up blitzes. Kenyan will continue to play a role in our system no matter who the other back is. We're excited about this opportunity to see what we have." We'd be very surprised if Barber out-carried Drake in Pittsburgh on Sunday -- especially consider Vegas just gave Drake a 2-year, $11 million deal in free agency. But it at least sounds like we shouldn't expect Drake to step into a true every-down role.

The Raiders have ruled RB Josh Jacobs out for Sunday's game at Pittsburgh. Jacobs is dealing with toe and ankle injuries, with the toe a holdover from Week 1. His absence makes Kenyan Drake a solid fantasy option against a Steelers defense that allowed 72 rushing yards to Devin Singletary on just 11 carries in the opener. Peyton Barber will be Vegas' #2 RB on Sunday.

The Raiders signed RB Peyton Barber. The Washington castoff is a replacement-level back and will be 3rd on the depth chart in Vegas behind Josh Jacobs and Kenyan Drake. You can continue to ignore Barber in fantasy drafts.

Washington has released RB Peyton Barber. He remained a thorn in RB Antonio Gibson's side throughout the 2nd half of last season and even stole some 1st-team, short-yardage work this preseason. So his departure is a slight bump for Gibson. Rookie Jaret Patterson looks like Washington's #3 RB behind Gibson and J.D. McKissic.
