Lions WRs Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle), D.J. Chark (ankle), Josh Reynolds (ankle) and Quintez Cephus (foot) all missed practice on Wednesday. St. Brown and Chark missed Week 4 and appear to be in danger of missing Sunday's game vs. the Patriots. We'll see about Reynolds and Cephus. Tom Kennedy, Kalif Raymond and Maurice Alexander are Detroit's healthy WRs right now. Check back tomorrow for another update.

Lions WR Quintez Cephus broke his collarbone in Sunday's loss to the Vikings, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. "It'll be an extended absence and potentially season-ending," Pelissero adds. Cephus can be dropped in all redraft leagues. Detroit will move forward with WRs Amon-Ra St. Brown, Kalif Raymond, KhaDarel Hodge and Trinity Benson. WR Tyrell Williams (concussion) is eligible to come off IR later this week, although it's unclear if he's ready.

Lions WR Quintez Cephus suffered a shoulder injury in the 1st half of Sunday's game vs. the Vikings and is questionable to return. We'll update you when we know more.

The Lions are placing WR Tyrell Williams on IR for the concussion that kept him out of Monday night's game in Green Bay. That means the veteran receiver will miss at least 3 more contests. Quintez Cephus led Detroit wideouts in targets and worked well ahead of the rest of the group in playing time against the Packers. On top of that, he looks like the best player among them to date. Kalif Raymond and rookie Amon-Ra St. Brown checked in close to each other as the 2nd and 3rd WRs in Green Bay, claiming 63% and 60% of the offensive snaps, respectively.

Lions WR Tyrell Williams (concussion) is out for Sunday's game against the Ravens. The early-rule out 10 days after the concussion is concerning. With Williams out last week, Quintez Cephus led Lions WRs with a 90% route rate, followed by Amon-Ra St. Brown at 72%, Kalif Raymond at 64% and Trinity Benson at 44%. Cephus has opened the season with 3-12-1 and 4-63-1 lines and has worked himself onto the WR4 radar.

Lions WR Tyrell Williams (concussion) has yet to practice this week and is unlikely to play vs. the Packers on Monday night. That’ll leave Detroit with some combination of WRs Kalif Raymond, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Quintez Cephus and Trinity Benson. Avoid.

The Lions have released WR Breshad Perriman. It's not a shocking move after an offseason and camp that provided only negative reports on the veteran wideout. But Detroit did guarantee $2 million on the 1-year, $2.5 million deal Perriman signed this offseason. Cutting him despite having to pay that money highlights how poor a summer Perriman has had. Tyrell Williams, Quintez Cephus and Amon-Ra St. Brown seem likely to run as the top 3 wideouts in Detroit. We'll see exactly how the group shakes out as the Lions get down to their 53-man roster by Tuesday.

Update: Lions insider Jeff Risdon tells us that WR Kalif Raymond is the favorite for the outside spot opposite Tyrell Williams. Neither Raymond nor Cephus is worth a spot on fantasy rosters.

Detroit picked WR Amon-Ra St. Brown in Round 4 of the 2021 NFL Draft. Equanimeous’ brother was the #2 WR in his recruiting class and became just the 4th true freshman to lead USC in catches when he hauled in 60 balls for 750 yards and 3 scores in 2018. St. Brown then posted a 77-1,042-6 line as a true sophomore, although that came on a strong Trojans passing attack. His market shares were mediocre: 21% of the catches, 24% of the yards and 17% of the TDs. St. Brown led USC with 41 catches and 7 TDs in an abbreviated 6-game 2020 season, but sophomore WR Drake Jordan beat him 502 to 478 in yards. St. Brown is a solid all-around receiver on tape, with good contested ability, decent route running and some juice after the catch. “Steady,” “dependable” and “average” were 3 words used by scouts to describe St. Brown’s game in Bob McGinn’s excellent article on The Athletic. Durability is also a question mark here after St. Brown suffered a hand injury as a high school senior, sprained the AC joint in his shoulder in 2018 and 2020 and needed sports hernia surgery after the 2019 campaign. He lands in an offense with a clear need at the position, though. Detroit's WR depth chart currently appears to be led by Tyrell Williams and Quintez Cephus. We'll see how quickly the rookie can climb it.

The Lions will waive WR Marvin Hall, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. It's a semi-surprising move since Hall was playing a bunch of snaps for Detroit with WR Kenny Golladay sidelined. The Detroit Free Press' Dave Birkett expects rookie WR Quintez Cephus to step into Hall's role against the Bears on Sunday, but he's still not a viable fantasy play.

Lions WRs Kenny Golladay (hip) and Danny Amendola are out for this weekend’s game against the Panthers. Golladay was limited on Wednesday before sitting out on Thursday and Friday, so it looks like he suffered a setback. Marvin Jones, Marvin Hall and Quintez Cephus figure to operate as Detroit’s top 3 WRs on Sunday.

Lions WR Kenny Golladay (hamstring) is out for Sunday's game against the Packers. He didn't practice all week, so consider his Week 3 status uncertain. With Golladay out last week, rookie Quintez Cephus stepped in as Detroit's #2 WR, playing 79% of the offensive snaps and drawing 10 targets. We still don't fully trust him in fantasy lineups, but you could do worse if you're looking for a Golladay replacement.

Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports that Lions WR Kenny Golladay had a helmet on at Wednesday's practice but remained on the sideline not participating. We'll keep on eye on the status of the wideout's hamstring as we move through the week.

The Lions selected Wisconsin WR Quintez Cephus in the 5th round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Cephus trudged to a 4.73-second 40 time at the Combine, although he did post above-average marks in the vertical and broad jumps at 6’1 and 202 pounds. He’s obviously not going to win with athleticism as a pro, but Cephus does a lot of little things well. He can beat press coverage, is an advanced route runner and is strong in contested situations. Cephus missed the entire 2018 season after being accused of sexual assault. He was later acquitted of those charges and returned to Wisconsin to post a 59-901-7 line this past year. Cephus tallied nice market shares, and his 3.1 yards per route run ranked 5th among 30 of this year’s top WR prospects. He figures to battle with Geronimo Allison for the #4 WR job in Detroit this season behind Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones and Danny Amendola. But all 4 of those guys are currently scheduled to hit free agency next offseason.
