Buccaneers LB Lavonte David, EDGE Jason Pierre-Paul (shoulder, hand) and CB Richard Sherman (hamstring) are active for today's game against the Saints.

Buccaneers LB Lavonte David (ankle), EDGE Jason Pierre-Paul (shoulder, hand) and CB Richard Sherman (hamstring) are questionable for Sunday's game against the Saints. David finished the week with a full practice and should be ready to return. JPP missed practice all week but did so last week as well and then played through a questionable tag. Sherman was limited all week but shouldn't be in anyone's IDP plans anyway.

The Buccaneers have ruled LB Lavonte David (ankle) out for Sunday's game against the Bears. That will once again make Kevin Minter a starting-level player alongside Devin White. Tampa also ruled out CB Richard Sherman (hamstring), leaving the defense without a recent free-agent addition who stepped into the starting lineup after injuries forced each of the season-opening top 3 corners to miss time. With Carlton Davis and Sean Murphy-Bunting on IR, Jamel Dean, Ross Cockrell (slot) and Dee Delaney look like the top 3 at CB.

The Buccaneers have downgraded CB Carlton Davis to questionable for Sunday night's game against the Patriots. He's listed with rib and abdominal injuries, but it sounds like the ab injury is the more significant. If Davis sits, it'll leave Tampa without its top 3 corners. Sean Murphy-Bunting is already on IR with an elbow injury, and the Bucs ruled Jamel Dean out for the game with a knee injury. Richard Sherman is now expected to start, just a few days after signing with the team. The whole situation can only be good news for New England wideouts.

The 49ers will go without DT Javon Kinlaw (knee), CB Richard Sherman (calf) and slot CB K'Waun Williams -- to go with the earlier report on LB Dre Greenlaw (calf) -- for Sunday's game against the Seahawks. In addition, S Tarvarius Moore and CB Emmanuel Moseley are questionable. We'll check on their statuses Sunday when the inactives come out (around 3 p.m. ET).

A Monday MRI revealed a Grade 2 strain to the right hamstring of 49ers CB Richard Sherman, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports. That puts Sherman in doubt for Sunday's game against the Falcons and perhaps beyond. We'll see how he progresses, but make sure you have another option for the CB slot in your IDP lineup.

Niners CB Richard Sherman (calf) is inactive for today's game against the Rams. That has no impact on IDP owners, and no one should have been considering using the San Francisco team D. The biggest effect here is that the Niners secondary now presents no real challenges for any L.A. wideouts. Josh Reynolds -- who joins the lineup with Cooper Kupp out -- gets an upside boost with Sherman's absence.

Seahawks CB Richard Sherman ruptured his right Achilles' tendon in Thursday night's win over the Cardinals and will miss the rest of the season. That damages a Seattle defense that has already showed cracks at points this season. It improves the individual matchups for WRs in the weeks to come, starting with Julio Jones in Week 11.

Seahawks CB Richard Sherman and S Earl Thomas were both injured in Sunday's NFC Championship victory over the Packers.  Sherman has been diagnosed with a sprained left elbow, while Thomas dislocated his shoulder.  Both guys played through their injuries on Sunday and are fully expected to be ready for the Super Bowl in a couple weeks.  The question is just how effective they'll be.  Sherman and Thomas both ranked among the top 5 at their respective positions in Pro Football Focus' grades.

Seahawks CB Richard Sherman (foot) sat out Wednesday's practice.  HC Pete Carroll has said nothing about the severity of the injury, but Sherman didn't miss a single snap of Sunday's loss at San Francisco.  We'll see how his participation proceeds.  Carroll did say Wednesday that he doesn't expect CB Brandon Browner (groin) to play Sunday at the Giants.

Seahawks CB Richard Sherman usually stays on the left side of the field.  But with CB Brandon Browner out for Sunday night's showdown against the 49ers, Sherman convinced his coaches to let him shadow WR Anquan Boldin.  The result was a 1-catch night for Boldin.  "I had him when he was split out, when he was in the left slot, right slot," Sherman said. "Didn’t matter."  The takeaway here is that Sherman has emerged as 1 of the top cover guys in the league.  Boldin will remain a focal point of opposing secondaries -- especially after that massive Week 1 performance -- but the matchup won't get any tougher than it was in Week 2.

Seahawks CB Richard Sherman revealed that he won his appeal of a 4-game suspension for performance-enhancing drugs.  Sherman successfully argued that his urine sample was contaminated.  He'll play against the Rams this weekend.  And Seattle will have both Sherman and CB Brandon Browner for the postseason.

A decision on Seahawks CB Richard Sherman's suspension appeal won't come until next week.  He'll play against the 49ers on Sunday night.  Sherman figures to shadow the red-hot Michael Crabtree.  We just adjust Crab's Week 16 projections.  DS insiders can check them out right here.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Seahawks CB Richard Sherman will have his appeal of a league drug suspension heard Friday. The timing, just 2 days before the SNF clash with San Francisco, seems to indicate he'll be available either way. The NFL tends to give teams enough notice so as to not be scrambling. That said, if you play in a deep league and might need a replacement should Sherman be ruled out, it's time to shop.

Seahawks CB Richard Sherman's suspension appeal will be heard this Friday.  It's bad timing for Seattle, who has a huge game against the 49ers on Sunday night.  If Sherman's suspension stands, it'd be a huge matchup upgrade for QB Colin Kaepernick and WR Michael Crabtree.  The 'Hawks are already without CB Brandon Browner.

Seattle CB Richard Sherman was supposed to have his appeal of a 4-game PED suspension heard this Friday. Yahoo!'s Mike Silver reports that will be delayed further. That makes it unlikely that Sherman will miss any fantasy weeks, unless they happen to hear the appeal early next week and decide quickly. The Seahawks' top cover man should be good to go for IDP owners the next 2 weeks. He presents upside in a matchup with Buffalo this Sunday.

The decision on Seahawks CB Richard Sherman's appeal isn't expected before this Sunday's game against the Bills.  Bad news for WR Stevie Johnson, who figures to be shadowed by Sherman.  The 2nd-year stud has allowed just 1 TD in coverage all season, despite being targeted 69 times.
