Steelers WR James Washington is expected to miss "a few weeks" with his shoulder injury, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That'll leave some combination of Ryan Switzer, Donte Moncrief and Johnny Holton behind JuJu Smith-Schuster and Diontae Johnson. None of those 3 guys is worth adding to fantasy rosters.

Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that the Raiders "fear potential NFL discipline might be imminent" for WR Martavis Bryant. Gehlken said the team refused to comment but that it is "awaiting final word on the situation" which is "believed to pertain to the NFL's substance-abuse policy." Bryant, of course, already lost the whole 2016 season to a drug suspension. So it's hard to imagine any further discipline in that area would be light. If Bryant goes down for a significant stretch, then Jordy Nelson would likely get pushed back outside from his slot role. That would leave Seth Roberts and Ryan Switzer to compete for snaps inside. We'll see how this one plays out.

The Cowboys on Sunday traded WR Ryan Switzer to the Raiders for DT Jihad Ward. It's an interesting swap: Dallas sending a 4th-round pick from last year for a guy who landed in Round 2 in 2016. Dallas clearly decided to go in other directions at WR, while the new Oakland staff apparently didn't feel the same way about Ward. Switzer drew just 7 targets as a Cowboys rookie but closed out 4 years at UNC with a 96-1,112-6. We wouldn't bet on any fantasy relevance in 2018, but there's potential opportunity in 2019 and beyond with Martavis Bryant in the final year of his contract and Jordy Nelson turning 33 at the end of May. Switzer's return skills -- 1 kick-return TD last year, 7 on punts in college -- might be the primary reason for the trade, after Oakland traded away Cordarrelle Patterson. That'll help Switzer stick on the Raiders roster.

The Cowboys selected North Carolina WR Ryan Switzer in the 4th round of the 2017 NFL Draft. The 5'9, 181-pounder tested as a 26th percentile athlete, so there's not much to get excited about from that standpoint. Switzer displays plenty of burst and quickness on tape, though, and broke out with a 96-1,112-6 line as Mitchell Trubisky's #1 WR this past year. He'll be no more than a slot receiver at the next level and will begin his career backing up Cole Beasley. Beasley is signed through 2018.
