Browns DE Myles Garrett (shoulder), DT Sheldon Richardson (neck) and CB Terrance Mitchell (non-injury) are all active for tonight's game against the Steelers. Each entered the night questionable.

Browns DE Myles Garrett is questionable for Sunday's game against the Steelers with a shoulder injury he apparently sustained in Friday's practice. He turned up limited that day after being estimated as a full participant the previous 2 days. Cleveland, of course, didn't actually practice until Friday, so it's a tough situation to read. We'll see about his status on Sunday. Losing Garrett would obviously be a huge blow for an already lackluster defense and a team with big COVID issues for the playoff opener. DT Sheldon Richardson (neck) and CB Terrance Mitchell are also questionable. Mitchell's issue is not injury related, so it's not yet clear what puts his status in question. The Browns also don't yet know if CB Denzel Ward will be able to come off the COVID list in time for the game against Pittsburgh.

Browns DT Sheldon Richardson left Sunday night's win over the Giants with a neck injury. X-rays came back negative, according to Andrew Gribble of the team website. We'll see about Richardson's status heading into next Sunday's matchup with the Jets, Richardson's original team.

Browns DT Sheldon Richardson (back) and DE Olivier Vernon (knee) are active for today's season finale against the Bengals. Richardson looks good for normal IDP usage. Vernon, on the other hand, hasn't played a full game since Week 9. He previously made it through just 10 snaps in a Week 13 attempt at returning from the knee injury. He'd be a high-risk IDP option -- albeit with sack upside.

Browns DT Sheldon Richardson (back) is active for today's game against the Ravens. DE Olivier Vernon (knee) is out once again.

The Browns have agreed to a 3-year deal with DT Sheldon Richardson, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. That will land Richardson in a Cleveland D-line that will also feature 3rd-year DT Larry Ogunjobi and DEs Myles Garrett and Olivier Vernon. There's room for all 4 players to deliver solid-to-strong IDP numbers. And the Cleveland defense has a chance to be strong in both real life and fantasy. Richardson posted 4.5 sacks in his lone Vikings season, matching his 2nd best total. He topped out at 8 back in 2014, his 2nd season in the league. Richardson will turn 29 in November.

Vikings DT Sheldon Richardson (hip) is active for today's game against the Dolphins. He's a lower-level IDP option but looks fine to use if he factored into your plans.

The Vikings on Friday announced that they have signed DT Sheldon Richardson. He spent a quiet 2017 with the Seahawks but remains a big talent and joins a loaded Minnesota D-line. Richardson will play alongside DT Linval Joseph and DEs Everton Griffen and Danielle Hunter. All carry IDP intrigue, and Minnesota figures to rank among the top defenses in both real life and fantasy in 2018

The Seahawks significantly upgraded their D-line talent by acquiring Sheldon Richardson from the Jets on Friday. Richardson can play DT or DE in Seattle's 4-3 base defense and even ran from a 3-4 OLB position for much of last year with the Jets. He wore out his welcome in New York with off-field issues and effort/attitude problems. But if he can avoid big issues on that front in Seattle, Richardson will help the team defense and bring IDP upside. Richardson was the 13th overall pick and defensive rookie of the year back in 2013. He followed that with 8 sacks and a top-10 finish among fantasy D-linemen in 2014. Richardson added another top-25 finish last year despite a new position. We wouldn't bet on Richardson starting right away in Seattle. But the Seahawks sent a 2nd-round pick in addition to WR Jermaine Kearse, despite Richardson heading toward unrestricted free agency in the spring. That indicates how much the team likes its new D-lineman. Expect him to start contributing as soon as he's ready and likely see his role grow as we get into the season.

Jets DEs Sheldon Richardson (back) and Muhammad Wilkerson (ankle) are active for today's game against the Bills. Both players entered the day questionable but are fine to use if they were in your IDP plans.

After months of negative headlines, DE Muhammad Wilkerson surprisingly signed a 5-year, $86 million deal with the Jets on Friday. The contract includes $36.75 million in guarantees, according to We hadn't downgraded Wilkerson's 2016 outlook without the long-term deal, so the contract doesn't affect our IDP projection. It doesn't hurt to add a little certainty to his future. We'll see how the D-line rotation works in the 2nd year of Wilkerson playing with Sheldon Richardson and Leonard Williams. Wilkerson's new deal calls into question the chances of Richardson signing beyond his current contract, which runs through 2017.

The NFL has suspended Jets DL Sheldon Richardson 1 game for violating the personal conduct policy. Richardson pleaded guilty in January to resisting arrest in a July 2015 incident where he allegedly led police on a high speed chase. Officers reported a strong odor of marijuana in the car when they stopped him, and he reportedly had a 12-year-old relative in the car with him. Richardson spent the 1st 4 games of last season suspended under the league's substance-abuse policy but returned to a full-time role right away. IDP owners shouldn't worry about him beyond the 1 missed week.

Jets DE Sheldon Richardson (hamstring) is probable for Sunday's game against the Dolphins after putting in full practices all week. He missed last Sunday's game at Houston but should be a full go this time around. That's good news for his IDP outlook and that of a team D that will miss CB Darrelle Revis (concussion).

Jets DE Sheldon Richardson is inactive for today's game at Houston because of a hamstring injury. That'll return the line to its season-opening alignment and likely mean a bit more playing time for Leonard Williams. It doesn't alter Williams' IDP outlook, however. The Jets' team D also remains usable against the Texans.

The Jets have deemed DE Sheldon Richardson questionable for Sunday's game against Houston because of a hamstring injury that has limited him this week. That certainly makes him an iffy IDP option even if he's active. Richardson sits outside of starter territory in our Week 11 IDP rankings for most fantasy formats.

Update: ESPN's Ohm Yongmisuk reports that Richardson will be a game-time decision.

Jets DE Sheldon Richardson played 49 of 63 defensive snaps in Sunday's win over Washington, his 1st game back after a 4-week suspension. According to, Richardson played in every defensive package except for the base 3-4 look, which the Jets didn't use much against Washington. HC Todd Bowles instead opted for a 4-3 front that got Richardson on the field with Muhammad Wilkerson and Leonard Williams. Wilkerson played 59 snaps, and Williams played 57. We see no reason why the Jets wouldn't continue such usage. OLB Quinton Coples spent much less time on the field than usual, but he has yet to register a sack this season. Less Coples would be no big loss to the Jets or IDP owners. Richardson belongs on a roster in most IDP leagues at this point. And the Jets' D looks pretty good going forward.

The Jets watched starting defenders S Calvin Pryor (bruised knee), LB David Harris (quad) and DE Leonard Williams (ankle sprain) leave Sunday's win over Miami with injuries. According to ESPN New York, HC Todd Bowles said Monday that it's too early to know what their statuses will be after the Week 5 bye. We'll check back in on all 3 after the time off. At least none sounds like a longer-term issue. If Williams misses any time, that could allow DE Sheldon Richardson to step back into the lineup, now that his 4-game suspension is done.
