Patriots RB Stevan Ridley was a healthy scratch for the AFC Championship after fumbling in each of the previous 2 games.  But the rookie has been told that he'll be active for the Super Bowl.  "This game I'm gonna be dressed and out on the field," Ridley said. "So hopefully I'll get some carries."  RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis played well against the Ravens, so he'll likely serve as the lead back this weekend.  Look for Ridley to spell BGE for 6-8 carries.

Patriots rookie RB Stevan Ridley carried a season-high 11 times for 65 yards against the Broncos Sunday.  He was quicker to the hole and more explosive through it than BenJarvus Green-Ellis, who managed just 17 yards on his 10 totes.  We'd like to believe that New England will increase Ridley's role, but we've learned not to bet on Bill Belichick's backfield.  Note that Ridley didn't receive a single touch 2 weeks ago.  The Patriots square off against a tough Dolphins run defense in Week 16 anyways, so Ridley won't be a fantasy option.  But he's a nice stash in keeper and dynasty leagues.

Patriots RB Danny Woodhead (ankle) returned to practice on Wednesday.  It looks like he'll be ready for this weekend's game against the Cowboys.  Prior to going down, Woodhead had seen just 15 total touches in his last 3 games, so he's not a fantasy option.  His return puts a damper on RB Stevan Ridley's outlook though.

New England rookie RB Stevan Ridley couldn't have done much more in his 1st NFL game action. The 3rd-round pick ran for 64 yards on 16 carries and punched in 2 1-yard TDs. He also scored on a 16-yard pass from QB Ryan Mallett, 1 of Ridley's 7 catches for the night. Having BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Shane Vereen inactive certainly helped. Still, this is a crowded backfield. Ridley could find his way to more work than expected. For fantasy folks, it's scary (and probably unwise) to draft any Patriots RB before Round 10.
