NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Chargers WR Stevie Johnson will miss the entire season following surgery to repair a torn meniscus. San Diego already signed WR James Jones after Johnson's injury, but we're not much interested in him for fantasy purposes. Johnson's absence should mean more for players such as TEs Antonio Gates and Hunter Henry and RB Danny Woodhead.

Chargers WR Stevie Johnson suffered a torn meniscus in Sunday's practice and will undergo surgery soon, according to NFL Network's Michael Silver. It's "unclear" whether the injury will end Johnson's season, Silver adds. It certainly sounds like the 30-year-old is looking at an extended absence, though. He's not worth rostering in redraft fantasy leagues. Johnson is mostly a short-range possession receiver for San Diego, so his absence figures to benefit Keenan Allen, Antonio Gates and Danny Woodhead most. Dontrelle Inman, Javontee Herndon and Tyrell Williams will battle to take Johnson's #3 WR spot.

We have yet to see an update on the specific injury. The team is likely awaiting further testing to solidify a diagnosis. We'll keep an eye on the situation. Michael Gehlken confirmed Tuesday afternoon that Chargers WR Keenan Allen will miss the rest of the season because of the lacerated kidney he suffered Sunday against Baltimore. That raises the fantasy profiles of WRs Malcom Floyd, Stevie Johnson and Dontrelle Inman the rest of the way, and leaves targets on the field for TE Ladarius Green and the RBs as well. Losing his #1 WR lowers the ceiling for QB Philip Rivers a bit, but he has spread the ball around quite well so far in an offense that must lean heavily on him with little going in the run game.

Chargers WR Keenan Allen (kidney) "could" miss the rest of the season, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.  Allen underwent a "kidney procedure – not a surgery" this week, Schefter adds.  Allen is worth stashing on fantasy benches until we have a clearer picture of his status, but owners need to start preparing to be without him the rest of the way.  WRs Stevie Johnson and Malcom Floyd need to be owned in all leagues.  #3 WR Dontrelle Inman is worth stashing in deeper setups.
