The Saints have released RB Terrance West. He lasted just a couple of months with the team, carrying 7 times for 36 yards in 2 preseason games. RB Jonathan Williams seems to have emerged as the favorite for #2 RB duties during Mark Ingram's suspension. He was the 2nd RB into last weekend's preseason game (Alvin Kamara didn't play) and finished with 37 yards on 8 carries.

The Saints on Wednesday agreed to a deal with RB Terrance West, according to NFL.com’s Herbie Teope. The move followed a tryout that reportedly included multiple veteran backs — plus DeMarco Murray declining an invitation. West has averaged a mere 3.9 yards per carry career and appeared in just 5 games last season for a Ravens offense seeking backfield answers. New Orleans clearly felt the need to tap a veteran to help fill the early Mark Ingram void. We’ll see if West can work his way into fantasy relevance. If nothing else, he’s in the right place for it.

Ravens RB Terrance West is inactive for today’s game against the Packers. He put in a full week of practice after missing time with that calf injury, so it looks like West is a healthy scratch. It’ll be Alex Collins, Danny Woodhead and Buck Allen in Baltimore’s backfield.

Ravens RB Terrance West (calf) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Packers. He put in a full week of practice, so he should be ready to go physically. But it’s unclear if has a spot on the active roster if RB Danny Woodhead is ready to play. West remains off the fantasy radar for now.

Ravens RB Terrance West (calf) put in a full practice on Wednesday. It looks like he's ready to return after missing the past 5 weeks. But it's entirely unclear what kind of role West will be returning to. He might not even be active if RB Danny Woodhead (hamstring) is ready to play.

Ravens RB Terrance West (calf) is out for Thursday night's game against the Dolphins. He didn't practice all week and has no timetable for return. Buck Allen and Alex Collins will continue handling backfield duties for Baltimore.

Ravens RB Terrance West (calf) remains out for this weekend’s game against the Vikings. Buck Allen and Alex Collins will continue handling backfield duties for Baltimore.

Ravens RB Terrance West (calf) is out for Sunday’s game against the Bears. Buck Allen will serve as Baltimore’s lead back with Alex Collins spelling him on some early downs.

Ravens RB Terrance West is expected to miss "some time" with his injured calf, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "But not an extended absence," Rapoport adds. Consider West week-to-week for now. He's not worth stashing in most fantasy leagues. Buck Allen and Alex Collins will handle backfield duties for Baltimore going forward.

Ravens RB Terrance West is doubtful to return to Sunday's game against the Raiders with a calf injury. His absence leaves the backfield to Alex Collins and Buck Allen. We'll update West's status when we learn more.

Update: West has now been ruled out.

Ravens RB Terrance West (thigh) is active for this morning's game against the Jaguars. Between the injury and the tough matchup, he's a risky Week 3 fantasy play without much upside. Buck Allen remains the best bet in Baltimore's backfield.

Ravens RB Terrance West (thigh) is listed as questionable for Sunday morning’s game against the Jaguars in London. He sat out on Wednesday and Thursday but put in a full practice on Friday, suggesting that he’s on track to play. We’ll find out for sure around 8 am on Sunday. The injury — plus a timeshare with Buck Allen — makes West a risky Week 3 fantasy starter. Allen remains the better bet for touches and fantasy points.

Ravens RB Terrance West (calf) missed practice again on Thursday. He's looking extremely iffy for Sunday morning's game against the Jaguars in London. West's absence would leave Buck Allen as Baltimore's clear lead back, with Alex Collins stepping into the #2 spot on the depth chart.

Ravens RB Terrance West did not practice on Wednesday and was listed on the injury report with a calf. We don't have any other details on the injury, but he's clearly in danger of missing this weekend's game against the Jaguars in London. West's absence would leave Buck Allen as Baltimore's clear lead back and Alex Collins as the #2.

Ravens RB Terrance West has a "soft-tissue injury" and is considered "day-to-day," according to insider Jeff Zrebiec. We'll keep our eyes peeled for further updates. West played just 15 snaps in Sunday's win over the Browns, finishing with 45 yards on 10 touches. Buck Allen, meanwhile, compiled 101 yards on 19 touches. Regardless of West's health, Allen is looking like the best fantasy play in Baltimore's backfield right now.

The Ravens have placed RB Danny Woodhead (hamstring) on IR. HC John Harbaugh said Wednesday that Woodhead's hammy would cost him at least 4 weeks, but this move knocks him out for at least 8. (We're expecting him to be designated-to-return.") Woodhead isn't worth stashing outside of leagues with deep benches or an IR spot. Terrance West and Buck Allen will handle backfield duties while Woodhead is out.

Update: They also promoted RB Jeremy Langford from the practice squad.

Ravens RB Danny Woodhead is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with his hamstring injury, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That puts his return somewhere between Weeks 6 and 8. Baltimore's bye isn't until Week 10. We'd try to hang on to Woodhead -- at least in PPR leagues -- but it might be tough in shallow-bench leagues. Woodhead will also remain an injury risk when he returns as a 32-year-old RB with recurring hamstring trouble. Terrance West and Buck Allen will handle backfield duties for Baltimore while Woodhead is out.

Ravens HC John Harbaugh confirmed on Wednesday that QB Joe Flacco (back) is "ready to roll" for Week 1. He resumed throwing in late August and returned to practice this past weekend. Flacco isn't a recommended Week 1 fantasy play on the road against the Bengals. But his availability is good news for Baltimore's skill-position guys.
