Dolphins LB Kiko Alonso (ankle, hamstring) is active for today's game against the Bills. He's expected to play after sitting out a week ago despite being active then. Alonso will be risky but also in play for IDP usage. CB Xavien Howard (knee) and S T.J. McDonald (ankle) are inactive.

Dolphins S T.J. McDonald (ankle) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Bills. It'll be the 2nd straight game he has missed. LB Kiko Alonso (knee, hamstring) is questionable for the 2nd straight week. Alonso was active last week but didn't play a snap. It sounds like Alonso will actually play this time around. HC Adam Gase told the South Florida Sun Sentinel on Friday: “He looks a lot better this week. It’s probably good that we didn’t play him [last week] because it could have gotten worse. He could have pulled it. He looks night and day from what I saw Sunday.” The hamstring appears to be the bigger issue. If active, Alonso will be usable this week. But he'll also carry elevated risk. Lead Dolphins CB Xavien Howard (knee) is also questionable after missing the past 3 weeks. He's not an IDP factor, and his status shouldn't matter for any particular Bills WR option.

Dolphins LB Kiko Alonso (knee, ankle) is active for today's game against the Jaguars after arriving "questionable." He's fine for normal IDP usage in a strong scoring matchup. S T.J. McDonald is inactive, as expected. His ankle injury had him doubtful.

Dolphins S T.J. McDonald is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Jaguars because of an ankle injury. He played through it last week after limited practices and a "questionable" tag, missing just 3 snaps of the lopsided loss to the Vikings. But the issue evidently got worse. McDonald missed practice every day this week. CB Xavien Howard (knee) is questionable for the game after managing limited practices all week. He sat out the past 2 games. Howard would be a low-floor IDP against the Jags if active.

Dolphins S T.J. McDonald (ankle) is active for today's game against the Vikings. He's fine for normal IDP usage and sits near the top of our DB rankings for the upside matchup at Minnesota.

Dolphins S T.J. McDonald (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game at the Vikings after being limited in practice all week. McDonald didn't miss a single snap of last week's win over the Patriots, though. We'd bet on him being active this week as well but will check on his status Sunday morning.

Dolphins DE Cameron Wake (knee surgery), CB Bobby McCain (knee) and S T.J. McDonald (knee) are active for today's game against the Lions. Wake returns after having a knee scoped and could see his playing time limited. McCain returns after missing the past 2 games. He defensed passes in each of his 1st 4 appearances this season. McDonald has played through previous "questionable" designations with this ailment. We wouldn't chase after any of the 3 in IDP lineups, but their presences help a team defense with some upside this week -- especially at cheap DFS salaries.

Dolphins CB Bobby McCain (knee), S T.J. McDonald (knee) and DE Cameron Wake (knee) are questionable for Sunday's game against the Lions. None of the 3 is a significant IDP option, but all 3 are starters for Miami. We'll check on their status Sunday morning.

The Dolphins have ruled out DE Charles Harris (calf) and CB Bobby McCain (knee) for today's game against the Bears. Harris had been filling in for Cameron Wake. With both out, DE Andre Branch will start. Wake has had arthroscopic knee surgery, but multiple reports indicate he could return for Week 7. Miami will have S T.J. McDonald (foot) in the lineup despite his questionable tag.

The league has suspended S T.J. McDonald for the 1st 8 games of 2017 for violating the substance-abuse policy. That'll put a huge dent in the 26-year-old free agent's pursuit for a new team. He's also fine to drop in dynasty fantasy football leagues at this point.

Update: Well, it must not have hurt him too much. McDonald reached a deal with the Dolphins on Friday, according to multiple sources.

Rams S T.J. McDonald was arrested Tuesday in Los Angeles on suspicion of driving under the influence of an unknown substance, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. McDonald reportedly struck a parked car, and officers believe he was under the influence of "something other than alcohol." This doesn't seem like it'll turn into a big issue for McDonald, but the incident could cost him a game or 2 via league discipline. We'll see how things play out for a potential top-20 fantasy DB in 2016.

Rams HC Jeff Fisher announced Wednesday that DE Robert Quinn and S T.J. McDonald will have season-ending surgeries, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Quinn needs an operation on his back, which has been a problem for much of the year. McDonald suffered a shoulder injury in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals. He had reportedly also been playing through injury for most of the year. We'll check on both potential IDP studs heading into 2016. Neither leaves behind an impact replacement for your fantasy football lineup.

The Rams will have DE Robert Quinn (knee) and S T.J. McDonald (foot) for today's game against the Bears. Quinn's probably not back near 100%, but his pass-rush ability and situation make him worth the risk in most lineups. McDonald has disappointed with fantasy numbers this year, but you can use him as you normally would.

The Rams have deemed S T.J. McDonald and DE Robert Quinn questionable for Sunday's game against the Bears. McDonald returned for a limited practice Friday from a foot injury he suffered in practice the week before. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, McDonald lobbied coaches to let him play in Week 9. It didn't work, but there might be reason for optimism this week. Quinn also put in limited practices the past 2 days after missing Week 9 with a knee injury. We'll see if either is able to return Sunday. DE Chris Long will likely miss his 4th straight game. He's doubtful with a knee injury, leaving DE William Hayes to start again.

The Rams have ruled out DE Robert Quinn and S T.J. McDonald for today's game at Minnesota. They join DE Chris Long on the sideline. The lost pass-rushing production dings the fantasy upside of the St. Louis D a bit, though the unit remains usable. DE William Hayes is active and will start at 1 end spot. He played in place of Long the past 2 weeks but can play either side. Hayes carries nice IDP upside for Week 9.

The Rams have ruled out DE Chris Long once again with the knee injury he suffered back in Week 5. This will mark his 3rd straight game out. That'll clear the way for William Hayes to start again at left DE, assuming he's ready to go. Hayes is questionable again with a thigh injury that he played through last week. He missed Wednesday and Thursday workouts but returned for a limited Friday practice. We'll check his Sunday status. DE Robert Quinn is also questionable with the same knee injury that made him questionable last week. He played through it last week but put in a full practice Friday after sitting out the 1st 2 days. Quinn missed all 3 days this week. That makes him look more iffy for Sunday. Make sure you have a replacement available. S T.J. McDonald is questionable as well after missing practice all 3 days. You should not have him in your IDP plans. Quinn's situation hurts the upside for the team D a bit as well.

The Rams will have DE William Hayes, S T.J. McDonald and DE Robert Quinn in the lineup today. All had been questionable but should be fine to use as you normally would in your IDP league. Quinn's a must-start pretty much every week, while Hayes carries upside with DE Chris Long out. The matchup is less good for McDonald.

The Rams have ruled DE Chris Long out for the 2nd straight game Sunday because of his hyperextended knee. That makes DE William Hayes an upside play again vs. a vulnerable 49ers O-line. The Rams have also deemed DE Robert Quinn (knee) and S T.J. McDonald (shoulder) questionable for Sunday's game, though each put in full practices Friday. We'd guess that both will play, though we'll obviously check their status Sunday morning.

The Bucs traded S Mark Barron to the Rams on Tuesday for 4th- and 6th-round picks, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. It's a somewhat odd move for a Rams team that already seemed stronger at safety than many other spots. Our guess is that DC Gregg Williams (and maybe HC Jeff Fisher, a former DC) bought into the talent of Barron -- a former #7 overall pick -- after finding him available, as opposed to hitting the market in search of a safety. We'll see whether Barron takes over for T.J. McDonald or Rodney McLeod, but his skill set would seem to fit McDonald's role more. The SS has ranked 3rd among safeties so far in percentage of run snaps spent "in the box." Don't expect Barron to start right away. We'll see how quickly the Rams can work him in. Tampa, meanwhile, has Bradley MacDougald and Major Wright as options to step in at safety.

As expected, Rams S T.J. McDonald is active and ready for today's finale at Seattle.  An illness forced him to miss some practice time and rendered him questionable for the game.
