Bears WR Allen Robinson (ribs) is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Vikings after missing practice all week. His absence will leave Taylor Gabriel and Anthony Miller as Chicago’s top 2 WRs. TE Trey Burton could also see a boost in volume.

Bears HC Matt Nagy said Monday that he'll be "smart" with his starters in Sunday's finale against the Vikings. Chicago still has a shot at the #2 seed -- but only if the Rams lose to the 49ers. If the Rams are up big in the 2nd half, guys like QB Mitchell Trubisky, RBs Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen, WR Allen Robinson and TE Trey Burton could get pulled.

The forecast for today's Jets-Bears game calls for 20 mph sustained winds with gusts around 35 mph. That's more than enough to impact the deep-passing and kicking games. You shouldn't have been investing in the Jets passing game anyway, but the weather is a downgrade for QB Mitchell Trubisky and WR Taylor Gabriel. Short-range targets like TE Trey Burton and RB Tarik Cohen should be fine.

Bears WR Allen Robinson (groin) is not expected to play against the Jets today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "The hope is a week off gets him right.," Rapoport adds. Robinson's absence leaves Taylor Gabriel, Anthony Miller, Kevin White and Josh Bellamy as Chicago's top 4 WRs. It should also mean a few extra targets for RB Tarik Cohen and TE Trey Burton.

Bears WR Anthony Miller (shoulder) put in a full practice on Wednesday. That puts him on track to return for this weekend's game against the Dolphins. The rookie averaged 3.7 targets across his first 3 games. He's not a fantasy option but does put a slight dent into the target projections for Allen Robinson, Taylor Gabriel and Trey Burton.

The Bears have placed TE Adam Shaheen (foot, ankle) on IR. GM Ryan Pace suggested that Shaheen could be designated-to-return and play later this season, but he's obviously not worth a roster spot in redraft leagues. TE Trey Burton looks set to be close to an every-down player and a big piece of Chicago's passing game.

The Bears are set to sign TE Trey Burton to a 4-year, $32 million deal, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It's a significant investment in a guy who's flashed potential. Burton has just 63 career catches, but 60 of those have come over the past 2 seasons. He posted lines of 2-41-1 and 5-71-2 in 2 games TE Zach Ertz missed this past year. We'll see how Burton fits in alongside 2017 2nd-rounder Adam Shaheen. Chicago has now added Burton and WR Allen Robinson for 2nd-year QB Mitchell Trubisky.

Eagles TE Trey Burton set season highs in targets (10), catches (7) and 65 yards in Sunday's loss to Washington. It marked his 2nd straight game with at least 9 looks and 5 receptions. There's some deep appeal to Burton in PPR leagues the rest of the way, with Philly getting little from WRs not named Jordan Matthews.

Eagles TE Zach Ertz (rib) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Steelers. HC Doug Pederson said that he expects Ertz back after the team's Week 4 bye. Trey Burton gets another game as Philly's pass-catching TE after posting a 5-49-1 line last week. His matchup this Sunday is tougher, though. The Steelers sit 2nd in Football Outsiders' TE coverage rankings.

Philly.com's Les Bowen reports that the Eagles don't expect TE Zach Ertz to practice or play until after the team's Week 4 bye -- "perhaps well after." That would obviously knock Ertz out for at least this Sunday's game against the Steelers. Brent Celek started and led Philly TEs in snaps in Monday night's win at Chicago. But TE Trey Burton led him by a wide margin in targets, 7-1. Burton tied for 2nd on the team in that category. He ranked 2nd along in catches (5) and yards (49) and caught the team's only TD pass. Burton's interesting for deeper TE-friendly formats, such as the FFPC -- especially as long as Ertz sits out.

The Eagles signed Trey Burton.  Listed as a TE at Florida, Burton set career highs with 38 catches and 445 yards in 2013.  He looks more like a WR, though, at 6'2, 224 pounds with 4.6 speed.  And he might have a better chance at making the Eagles roster as a WR.  Regardless, we're intrigued to see what HC Chip Kelly can do with Burton.
