Packers RB Tyler Ervin is expected to get "the bulk of the carries" against the 49ers tonight, according to NFL Network's Peter Schrager. That presumably means RB Aaron Jones (calf) will be inactive, leaving the backfield to Ervin and Dexter Williams. Ervin goes just 5'10 and 192 pounds, so we're not expecting a big ball-carrying role. But he should also handle most of the pass-catching work, putting him on the RB3/Flex radar. Check out the updated projections for the Packers backfield.

Packers RB Jamaal Williams will miss Thursday night's game against the 49ers because of his "high-risk close contact" status with RB AJ Dillon. We'll see whether RB Aaron Jones is ready to return after missing the past 2 contests. Green Bay estimated him as a limited practice participant Monday (but didn't have an actual workout). If Jones can't play, then Tyler Ervin and Dexter Williams would lead the backfield. Each is worth consideration on waivers this week at low investment. It wouldn't be a great matchup for either reserve back, though.

Texans WR Keke Coutee (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Broncos. That leaves Houston with Demaryius Thomas, Vyncint Smith and Sammie Coates behind DeAndre Hopkins -- although ESPN's Sarah Barshop expects the team to use RB Tyler Ervin in the slot. Regardless, Hopkins should dominate targets tomorrow.

Texans RB Tyler Ervin tore his patellar tendon in Sunday's win over the Titans. That ends his season and could put his availability for the start of the 2018 campaign in doubt. Ervin caught 8 of 11 targets in 4 games, so his absence gives RB Lamar Miller's receiving projection a slight boost.

The Texans selected RB Tyler Ervin in the 4th round of the 2016 NFL Draft. The San Jose State product goes just 5’10, 192 pounds and projects as a change-of-pace type in the NFL. But he averaged 5.5 yards per carry and, more importantly, totaled 74 catches over the last 2 seasons. He also landed in the 74th percentile among RBs in SPARQ score and has been compared to Darren Sproles. Ervin will join Houston’s backfield alongside Lamar Miller, a strong pass-catcher in his own right. It’s not a great landing spot, but Ervin is still worth a look in the later rounds of your dynasty rookie draft.
