The Chargers announced that TE Hunter Henry suffered a tibia plateau fracture to his left knee in Sunday's win over the Colts. For what it's worth, this is the opposite knee in which he tore his ACL last spring. Henry will "continue to be evaluated" and a timetable for his return "has not yet been determined," per the team's statement. There are 3 instances of a tibia plateau fracture in Sports Injury Predictor's database. Those guys (Nate Burleson, Anthony Hitchens and Daniel Sorensen) missed anywhere from 1 to 3 months. We should learn more about Henry's status over the next few days, but fantasy owners obviously need to plan to be without him for a while. Virgil Green is currently the Chargers' backup TE. (We'll see if they try to bring Antonio Gates back.) Henry's absence will push even more targets to WR Keenan Allen and RB Austin Ekeler.

Rumors of such have been swirling at least since Hunter Henry suffered his ACL tear. Gates joins a TE group that sported just 1 player with NFL catches (Virgil Green: 71 across 7 seasons). Gates should continue to be a red-zone option for QB Philip Rivers, as he has always been. But we saw a sharp decline in yardage efficiency from Gates over the past few years. He's worth a look in redraft leagues -- and worth rostering in TE premium. But don't overrate the name value. The Chargers now boast an attractive trio of red-zone options at WR.

Andrew Mason of the Broncos' official website considers Virgil Green the "most likely" candidate to lead the team's TEs in receiving. His competition comes in the form of Jeff Heuerman and Garrett Graham. Green is certainly the best blocker of the group and is a high-end athlete. He'd present the most fantasy appeal of the group. And whoever does emerge as the lead guy will have some upside as potentially the #3 target in Gary Kubiak's TE-friendly offense.
