Jets LB Neville Hewitt (neck) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Dolphins. The team will also miss LB Blake Cashman, who landed on IR this week with a shoulder injury. With those 2 out, plus LBs Avery Williamson and Albert McClellan on IR and C.J. Mosley out at least another month, James Burgess will start against Miami. The Jets also signed LB Zach Brown, who got dumped by the Eagles after their Week 6 loss at Minnesota. We've added Burgess to the Week 9 IDP rankings.

Washington has released LB Zach Brown, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Brown graded out #3 among all LBs on Pro Football Focus last season but checked in much worse the year before. Washington now makes the 3rd team that has either booted Brown or let him walk in free agency -- and the 2nd of 3 teams to decrease Brown's playing time before he left. Brown has showed at each stop that he can put up strong fantasy numbers when starting. We'll see where he lands this time, heading into his age-30 season.

Washington ILB Zach Brown (illness) and DL Matt Ioannidis (shin) are active for today's game against the Giants. Brown should be fine for normal IDP usage. Ioannidis looks risky after missing practice all week. The matchup does present upside, though, if he makes the most sense among your options.

Washington LB Zach Brown is questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants. He popped up on the injury report after missing Thursday's practice with an illness but returned to full participation Friday. We'd bet on Brown playing. DL Matt Ioannidis is also questionable with a shin injury. He missed practice all week after sitting out last week's game. Ioannidis looks like a poor IDP bet even if he turns up active Sunday.

Washington ILB Zach Brown is active for today's game against the Packers. He's a weaker-than-usual IDP option, however. Brown played just 65% of the snaps in Week 1 and then 84% in Week 2, despite entering each game without landing on the injury report. His questionable tag for Week 3 certainly doesn't indicate that he's past the oblique injury today.

Washington LB Zach Brown is questionable for Sunday's game against the Packers. He put in limited practices Thursday and Friday after sitting out Wednesday. Brown played less than 100% of the snaps each of the 1st 2 weeks despite not appearing on the injury report either time. So he'll be tough to trust in IDP lineups for Week 3 even if active.

Washington on Thursday re-signed ILB Zach Brown to a 3-year deal with $24 million. We don't know the specific terms beyond that yet, but it's tough to imagine the team actually paying Brown $8 million per year over the next 3. The Titans and Bills already let Brown walk from starting gigs, with Buffalo watching him leave for just a 1-year, $2.3 million contract last offseason. When Brown's in the lineup, though, he has repeatedly delivered fantasy numbers. And the new deal at least makes him a strong IDP candidate for 2018.

Washington ILB Zach Brown will miss his 3rd straight game Sunday against the Giants. He's dealing with knee and Achilles' tendon injuries. The D will again run with ILBs Zach Vigil and Martrell Spaight, if Spaight's ready to go. He's questionable for the game after losing practice time to illness and ankle designations this week. OLB Ryan Kerrigan is also questionable with a calf injury that arose during the week, keeping him out of Thursday's practice before allowing a limited Friday workout.

Washington has ruled ILB Zach Brown out for the 2nd straight game in Week 16 with an Achilles' tendon injury that has dogged him for a while. That again leaves Zach Vigil and Martrell Spaight starting inside for Washington's D. Vigil remains the usable of the 2 in IDP leagues, though neither is an exciting option.

Washington has ruled ILB Zach Brown out for Sunday's game against the Cardinals with multiple lower-body injuries. The team will start Martrell Spaight and Zach Vigil at the 2 ILB spots. Each is a marginal IDP option. Arizona RB Kerwynn Williams hits the matchup off a pair of solid rushing outings and presents some fantasy upside, especially if the Cardinals defense can keep things close. Brown's loss doesn't significantly alter the outlook for the Washington team D.

Washington ILB Martrell Spaight (ankle) is inactive for Thursday night's game against the Giants. That leaves the defense with its #4 option next to ILB Zach Brown, who is active despite entering the night questionable.

Washington ILB Zach Brown is questionable for Sunday's game against the Saints. He played through a "questionable" tag last week, though, without missing a snap and then put in limited practices all week. We're betting he'll play. It's also worth noting that Washington lists his injury as "Achilles" this week after listing "ankle" last time around. Both terms obviously refer to the same area, so the change in designation could be meaningless. We're certainly not altering Brown's IDP outlook until/unless we get some bad news. S DeAngelo Hall (knee) is also questionable but also put in limited practices all week and seems likely to play.

Washington ILB Zach Brown is active for today's game against the Vikings. He had an ankle injury arise during the practice week but looks OK to use as you normally would in your IDP leagues.

Washington ILB Zach Brown is questionable for Sunday's game against the Vikings with an ankle injury. HC Jay Gruden said the issue popped up Thursday, when Brown missed practice. He returned for a limited workout Friday. We'll check on his status Sunday morning.

Bills DE Kyle Williams (back) and LBs Preston Brown (foot) and Zach Brown (illness) are active for today's game against the Jets. All 3 entered the day questionable but are good to go in your IDP lineups.

Bills DT Kyle Williams (back) and LB Zach Brown (ankle) are active for today's game against the Browns. Both should be fine to toss into IDP lineups in an upside matchup.

Bills LB Zach Brown (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Browns. He popped up on Thursday's injury report and put in limited workouts the final 2 days. We'll see about his status Sunday morning.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Bills LB Reggie Ragland will miss the entire season with the partial ACL tear he suffered last week. That will leave Buffalo without its top 2 draft picks until at least October, with DE Shaq Lawson recovering from shoulder surgery. Zach Brown is expected to start in place of Ragland at ILB, next to Preston Brown. His speed has always added fantasy intrigue even while Zach Brown failed to hold down a starting gig in Tennessee. Preston Brown gains tackle upside for your IDP league with Ragland out. Losing Ragland doesn't significantly alter the fantasy outlook for the Buffalo team D.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the initial MRI showed a partial ACL tear for Bills LB Reggie Ragland. That's good news after the team feared worse. Ragland will reportedly get a 2nd opinion Monday, which will also determine how long he'll be out. Assuming they confirm a partial tear, we should see Ragland on the field this season. The injury still makes him not worth selecting in most 2016 redraft IDP leagues, however. Preston Brown's tackle upside will grow while Ragland's out. The Bills added veterans Brandon Spikes and David Hawthorne on Sunday to fortify the position. Former Titan Zach Brown sits behind Brown and Ragland on the depth chart.

Titans ILB Avery Williamson is inactive for today's game against the Dolphins because of a hamstring injury. That should leave Wesley Woodyard and Zach Brown starting in his place. Neither makes for a strong IDP starting option, but both bring some upside in deeper fantasy football leagues.
