The Cardinals on Wednesday place RB Darrel Williams on with a hip injury. It was a knee issue that previously cost Williams game time and rendered him questionable for last week's contest. His absence only solidifies Eno Benjamin as #2 to James Conner, who put in a limited Wednesday practice (ribs).

Cardinals RBs James Conner (ribs) and Darrel Williams (knee) remained limited in Thursday's practice. We'll see what they do on Friday and how they're listed on the final injury report for this weekend's game against the Vikings.

Cardinals RB Darrel Williams is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Eagles with a knee injury. RB James Conner left earlier with a rib injury, leaving the backfield to RB Eno Benjamin.

Cardinals RB James Conner (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. His injury reportedly isn't serious, but he's not a lock to play vs. the Rams this weekend. Conner's absence would leave RBs Darrel Williams and Eno Benjamin in something close to a 50/50 committee. Check back tomorrow for another update on Conner.

Cardinals RBs Darrel Williams and Eno Benjamin each logged 8 carries in Sunday's win over the Raiders, with James Conner left early with an ankle injury. They also split pass routes near-evenly, with Williams running 24 vs. Benjamin's 22. It was Benjamin edging Williams by a target. Conner's injury is not expected to be serious, so we'll see whether he misses any further game time. If/when he does, expect a similar work split for Arizona's reserves.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that Cardinals RB James Conner's ankle injury is "not considered long-term or serious." Conner remained on the sideline for the OT win over the Raiders but never returned. We'll keep an eye on his practice participation this week. If Conner can't play vs. the Rams on Sunday, we'd likely see a fairly even backfield split between RBs Darrel Williams and Eno Benjamin.

The Cardinals have agreed to a deal with former Chiefs RB Darrel Williams, according to Jordan Schultz. Williams delivered double-digit PPR points 9 times from Week 4 on, including 4 outings of more than 15.5 points (Top-12 level). A Week 5 hip injury to Clyde Edwards-Helaire helped boost Williams' role, and a December shoulder injury for CEH allowed Williams to star in Week 17. He looks like the best bet to back up James Conner in Arizona, with better size than Eno Benjamin and no less receiving upside. Rookie Keaontay Ingram is also in the competition for roles.

The Chiefs have downgraded RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire to out for Sunday's game against the Bengals. It was more surprising that the team initially deemed him questionable than it is that he'll miss the game. We've had Darrel Williams projected as a strong starter all week. Kansas City also added Jerick McKinnon to the active roster. McKinnon has been out since Week 11 with a hamstring injury. We wouldn't bet on a big role at Cincinnati.

Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire exited in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Steelers with a collarbone injury. We'll pass along an update when we get one. Edwards-Helaire's absence leaves Darrel Williams as Kansas City's lead back, with Derrick Gore the #2.

Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire sprained the MCL in his left knee in Sunday night's loss to the Bills. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the injury will keep him out for "a few weeks." Kansas City has just Darrel Williams and Jerick McKinnon behind Edwards-Helaire on the roster, with Derrick Gore the only RB on the practice squad. We'd bet on them adding someone else this week, though anything short of a trade is unlikely to bring in a RB with immediate fantasy football relevance. Williams figures to be the lead back for an upside scoring matchup with Washington in Week 6. After that come soft RB matchups with the Titans, Giants and Packers.

Chiefs RB Darrel Williams has a knee injury, HC Andy Reid said Monday. We don't have any other details on the severity or how long Williams will be sidelined. We'll monitor the situation. A healthy Williams is the favorite for the #2 RB job in Kansas City.
