Ricky Pearsall Out For Week 16

49ers WR Ricky Pearsall (ankle, knee) is out for Monday night's game vs. the Colts. He didn't practice all week and could certainly miss multiple games after aggravating his PCL injury last week. Pearsall's absence boosts the target projections on WR Jauan Jennings and TE George Kittle.

Jauan Jennings' 4-45 Marks a Positive Week 8

Niners WR Jauan Jennings won't win any Week 8 fantasy matchups with his 4 receptions for 45 yards in Sunday's loss to the Texans. But it marked a good outing for a receiver fighting through multiple injuries. Jennings led 49ers wideouts in total snaps and ran just one fewer route than WR Kendrick Bourne (30-31). Jennings' seven targets led the team by two, following another seven-target outing (last week) in which only Christian McCaffrey edged him. Jennings' consecutive 4-catch performances look good after his first four contests of the year produced reception totals of 2, 5, 2, and 1.

        Jauan Jennings Healthier This Week?

49ers WR Jauan Jennings (ankle, rib, shoulder) is not listed on the final injury report for Sunday night's game vs. the Falcons. He practiced all week, including a full workout on Friday. That's a big improvement over last week, when Jennings got in just limited practices on Thursday and Friday and was listed as questionable. Jennings said after that loss to the Buccaneers that he's playing through five broken ribs and high- and low-ankle sprains. He seems to be trending in the right direction now, although we'd still like to see him post a strong box score before trusting him in fantasy lineups.

Jauan Jennings Playing Through Broken Ribs And Ankle Sprains

49ers WR Jauan Jennings told reporters after Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers that he's playing through five broken ribs and high- and low-ankle sprains. That would explain his one-catch outing vs. Tampa Bay. We're still waiting for the official snap counts from this one, but Jennings was certainly not a full-time player. And he was clearly not anywhere close to 100%. We'll keep an eye on his practice participation going forward for signs of improving health. But Jennings will be very tough to trust in fantasy lineups until we see his snap rate and production rebound to normal levels. His injuries also make WR Kendrick Bourne a more intriguing fantasy play, even if WR Ricky Pearsall and TE George Kittle return for Week 7.

Ricky Pearsall Out For Week 6

WR Ricky Pearsall has officially been ruled out for San Francisco's Week 6 trip to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers. Pearsall will miss his second consecutive game with a PCL injury. The 49ers will also be without QB Brock Purdy (toe) and TE George Kittle (hamstring).

Brock Purdy & Top Two WRs Out For Week 5

49ers QB Brock Purdy (toe) and WRs Ricky Pearsall (knee) and Jauan Jennings (ankle, ribs) have all been ruled out for Thursday night's game against the Rams. It doesn't sound like any of their injuries are serious, but the short week did them no favors. We'll see if they can make it back for Week 6. QB Mac Jones makes another start vs. the Rams this week. He played well in Week 2 and 3 starts, completing 66% of his passes at 7.0 yards per attempt with 4 TDs vs. 1 INT. He'll be working with a rag tag group of pass catchers on Thursday night, though. The WR corps figures to be led by Kendrick Bourne, Demarcus Robinson, and Skyy Moore, while Jake Tonges again leads the TE room. We'd try not to mess with any of these guys in Week 5 fantasy lineups. RB Christian McCaffrey will be very busy yet again.

Brock Purdy And Top Two WRs Out Again Tuesday

49ers QB Brock Purdy (toe) did not practice on Tuesday. "I feel a lot better compared to the Week 1 game," Purdy said. "Toe is just a little sore from the game, but nowhere near as bad as after Seattle (in Week 1)." Purdy did not say whether he expects to play vs. the Rams on Thursday night, though. We'll see if he practices tomorrow and how he's listed on the final injury report. WRs Ricky Pearsall (knee) and WR Jauan Jennings (ankle, rib) also missed Wednesday's practice.

Ricky Pearsall & Jauan Jennings Questionable For Week 4

49ers WRs Ricky Pearsall (knee) and Jauan Jennings (ankle, shoulder) are listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Jaguars. Pearsall got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday and seems like the better bet to play. Jennings got in just a limited practice on Friday after missing Week 3 with these injuries. Hopefully we get updates on these guys on Sunday morning. We won't get San Francisco's inactives until a little after 2:30 pm ET.

        Jauan Jennings Still Out Thursday

49ers WR Jauan Jennings (ankle) missed practice again on Thursday. He was at least running on a side field, according to The Athletic's Vic Tafur. We'll see if Jennings practices on Friday and how he's listed on the final injury report for this weekend's game vs. the Cardinals, who are very beat up in the secondary.

        Jauan Jennings Sidelined Wednesday

49ers WR Jauan Jennings (ankle, shoulder) did not practice on Wednesday. He played through the shoulder issue in Week 2, but the ankle is new. HC Kyle Shanahan called Jennings "day to day" earlier this week, so it doesn't sound like a serious injury. But Jennings' status for this weekend's game vs. the Cardinals is uncertain. We'll update his status again tomorrow.

'Optimism' Jauan Jennings Plays Week 2

49ers WR Jauan Jennings (shoulder) is considered a game-time decision for today's meeting with the Saints, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "There is optimism he goes. But he’ll workout pregame to see," Rapoport adds. We'll get San Francisco's inactives around 11:30 am ET. But, between the shoulder injury and QB Brock Purdy's absence, Jennings would be a high-risk fantasy play if he ends up active.

Jauan Jennings Questionable For Week 2

49ers WR Jauan Jennings (shoulder) is questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Saints. He only got in a limited practice on Friday. We’ll look for further updates on Jennings and get San Francisco’s inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday. But, between the shoulder injury and absence of QB Brock Purdy, Jennings is not a recommended Week 2 fantasy start.

        Jauan Jennings Still Out Thursday

49ers WR Jauan Jennings (shoulder) remained sidelined on Thursday. His injury reportedly isn't serious, but he's in danger of missing this weekend's game vs. the Saints. We'll update Jennings' status again on Friday, but he shouldn't be in your Week 2 fantasy plans.

        Jauan Jennings Out Wednesday

49ers WR Jauan Jennings (shoulder) did not practice on Wednesday. Jennings' injury reportedly isn't serious, but he's not a lock to play vs. the Saints this weekend. Even if he does, he'd be a shaky fantasy starter between the shoulder injury and expected absence of QB Brock Purdy.

Jauan Jennings "Has A Chance" To Play Week 2

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms NFL Network's earlier report that 49ers WR Jauan Jennings' shoulder injury is not serious. Scans on the shoulder "came back clean," according to Schefter. "Jennings now will be considered day to day, and has a chance to play Sunday at New Orleans." It's good news for Jennings, who the 49ers desperately need after losing TE George Kittle for at least the next four games. We'll track Jennings' practice participation this week. If he can't play vs. the Saints on Sunday, San Francisco would be down to WRs Kendrick Bourne, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Skyy Moore, Jordan Watkins, and Russell Gage behind Ricky Pearsall.

Jauan Jennings' Shoulder Injury Not Serious

"At this point, it does not appear Jauan Jennings' shoulder injury is serious," NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said Tuesday. That's the extent of the information we have on Jennings' left shoulder at this point. It sounds like he'll dodge a long-term absence, but his availability for this weekend's game vs. the Saints remains uncertain. We'll see if he's out there for Wednesday's practice, but fantasy owners need to have an alternative option lined up for Week 2.

Ricky Pearsall Gets Encouraging Usage in WR Ghost Town

WR Ricky Pearsall tallied 108 yards on four catches in Sunday's win over the Seahawks. A 45-yard, fourth-quarter play gave that receiving line a big boost, but Pearsall easily led his WR corps in playing time, usage, and production. His seven targets trailed only Christian McCaffrey (10). Pearsall's 84% snap share led his nearest WR teammate by nearly 20 percentage points. He ran a route on 89.7% of Brock Purdy dropbacks as one of just three 49ers to eclipse 20 routes. Jauan Jennings checked in second among that group and caught two of his five targets before leaving with a shoulder injury in the fourth quarter.

49ers WR Jauan Jennings suffered a left shoulder injury in the second half of Sunday's game vs. the Seahawks. He was wincing while catching passes on the sideline, according to The Athletic's Matt Barrows. Jennings is officially questionable to return. Stay tuned for an update.
