Patriots WR Nelson Agholor (ankle) did not practice on Thursday. That comes after a limited workout on Wednesday. So he appears to be in real danger of missing this weekend's opener against the Dolphins. Agholor's absence would vault Kendrick Bourne into the #2 WR role behind #1 Jakobi Meyers.

Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald this week led his list of potential "breakout" Patriots for 2021 with WR Jakobi Meyers. Callahan points to the "only" potential hurdles for Meyers being injury or "dominant summers from Nelson Agholor and Kendrick Bourne," whom New England paid up for in free agency. "But those free-agent additions undoubtedly saw what everyone else did at OTAs and minicamp this spring: Meyers was the best receiver on the field," Callahan writes. We've certainly read other similar offseason buzz for Meyers, who claimed 28% of Patriots targets from Week 7 on last season. At WR68 in current FFPC best-ball drafting and a mid-13th round price on Underdog, Meyers at least looks worth some shots in your drafts. We'll see how things go for him and the rest of the Pats offense through training camp and preseason. Mac Jones taking over for Cam Newton at QB would also likely be good for Meyers' target volume.

NBC Sports' Tom Curran believes Jakobi Meyers will be the "most reliable and productive Patriots wideout in 2021." New England added Nelson Agholor and Kendrick Bourne to the WR room this offseason, but Curran believes Meyers' understanding of the offense, route-running ability and reliable hands will give him the edge. It's a situation to track in training camp and preseason action, but Meyers is a nice target right now at his late ADP.

The Patriots signed WR Kendrick Bourne to a 3-year, $22.5 million contract, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Bourne spent the past 4 years in San Francisco and is coming off his best season as a pro -- but one that still amounted to just 49 catches for 667 yards and 2 scores. He might find a bit more opportunity in New England but still seems unlikely to emerge as a real fantasy asset. The Patriots have now added Bourne, WR Nelson Agholor and TE Jonnu Smith to their pass-catching corps on the 1st day of free agency. That doesn't bode well for WR Julian Edelman, who's uncertain for 2021, or WR N'Keal Harry. WR Jakobi Meyers' stock has also taken a hit today.

49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk suffered a high-ankle sprain in Saturday's win over the Cardinals and will miss the finale vs. the Seahawks. It ends an impressive rookie campaign that saw Aiyuk average 6.6 catches, 83 yards and .6 TDs over his final 7 games. Kendrick Bourne and Richie James will close out the season as San Francisco's top 2 WRs.

Niners HC Kyle Shanahan announced Tuesday that WR Deebo Samuel will miss the rest of the season with his hamstring injury. That clears the way for Brandon Aiyuk to remain the #1 WR over the next 2 weeks, with Kendrick Bourne and Richie James as #2 and #3.

49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk (COVID) is out for today’s game against the Rams. Deebo Samuel, Richie James and Kendrick Bourne should operate as San Francisco’s top 3 WRs.

San Francisco GM John Lynch said Friday that WR Kendrick Bourne has been cleared to travel with the team for Sunday's game in New Orleans. That precedes word of Bourne being activated from the COVID list -- after he returned to it Monday -- but suggests that is coming. Expect Bourne to be in the lineup against New Orleans. That doesn't make him anything more than a low-level PPR option, but it also likely pushes Week 9 star Richie James back to reserve status.

49ers WR Kendrick Bourne has been placed back on the COVID list. He landed there last week and missed the Packers game before it was discovered that he was a false-positive. It's unclear if he tested positive this time or was in contact with someone who did. If it's the latter, he has a chance to be cleared in time for this Sunday's game against the Saints.

49ers WR Kendrick Bourne has returned 2 consecutive negative COVID tests, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Bourne, Brandon Aiyuk, Deebo Samuel and Trent Williams can re-join the team immediately. It's a tough break that all 4 guys were forced to miss Thursday night's loss to the Packers, but they'll be eligible to play Week 10.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that 49ers WR Kendrick Bourne has tested positive for COVID. That means he'll miss at least this week's game against the Packers and probably Week 10 (at New Orleans) as well. San Francisco then gets a Week 11 bye. We'll see when WR Deebo Samuel returns to the field. He has continued to miss practice this week with his hamstring injury. Trent Taylor and Richie James look next in line for WR targets. Taylor would be in play for deep PPR lineups if Samuel remains out vs. Green Bay.

49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk (hamstring) is inactive for today’s game against the Cardinals. With WR Deebo Samuel also out, Kendrick Bourne and Trent Taylor figure to operate as San Francisco’s top 2 WRs.

The 49ers have placed WR Deebo Samuel (foot) on IR. It's a bit surprising after Samuel was seemingly trending in the right direction -- and potentially even being ready for Week 1. We haven't heard of a setback, but Samuel is now out for at least the first 3 weeks. With WR Brandon Aiyuk (hamstring) questionable for Sunday's opener vs. Arizona, Kendrick Bourne and Trent Taylor figure to operate as San Francisco's top 2 WRs.

49ers WRs Deebo Samuel (foot) and Brandon Aiyuk (hamstring) missed practice on Wednesday. Fantasy owners shouldn't be counting on either guy to play against the Cardinals this weekend. Their absences would leave Kendrick Bourne and Trent Taylor as San Francisco's top 2 WRs. TE George Kittle should dominate targets.

Niners rookie WR Brandon Aiyuk left practice Sunday morning with a left hamstring injury, according to NBC Sports' Matt Maiocco. Injuries to Deebo Samuel and Jalen Hurd had left Aiyuk as the potential leader of the WR corps. We'll see how significant this issue proves to be. Yet another WR injury only increases opportunity for Kendrick Bourne and slot man Trent Taylor. Either guy is worth a look late in deep fantasy football drafts. Aiyuk remains a high-upside pick in the double-digit rounds, as long as this hammy injury doesn't prove to be too serious. Aiyuk reportedly finished the Sunday session watching from the sideline, which is obviously more encouraging than if he'd gone immediately in for treatment.

49ers WR Jalen Hurd is having a Monday morning MRI on "what's believed to be a major knee injury" suffered in Sunday practice, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. The team reportedly fears that Hurd suffered an ACL tear. Such fears tend to be confirmed by testing. We'll keep an eye on this situation, but you should certainly stop drafting Hurd immediately. His absence would leave even more available for Brandon Aiyuk, as the Niners await Deebo Samuel's return to health. WRs Kendrick Bourne and Trent Taylor would also find more opportunity available. Aiyuk is a high-upside option for your fantasy bench. Taylor and Bourne would be late-draft flyers.

49ers WR Dante Pettis (groin) is not listed on the final injury report after putting in full practices on Thursday and Friday. WRs Trent Taylor (foot) and Jalen Hurd (back) are both out for this weekend’s opener against the Bucs. Marquise Goodwin is expected to serve as the #2 WR, with Kendrick Bourne, Deebo Samuel and Richie James filling spots 3 through 5.
