Report: Bucky Irving Not Expected To Play In Week 12

Tampa Bay Times beat writer Rick Stroud reported that Tampa Bay Buccaneers' RB Bucky Irving is not expected to play in Week 12 and has "struggled emotionally" after suffering his first significant injury of his career. Irving has been out since Week 4 with a foot sprain. There was some optimism that Irving would return this week after he participated in a limited practice session again on Wednesday. However, it looks like the Buccaneers will once again turn to the backfield duo of Rachaad White and Sean Tucker in a tough spot on Sunday night in Los Angeles to take on a formidable Rams' defense.

Bucky Irving Out For Week 11

Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving (foot, shoulder) is out for this weekend’s game vs. the Bills. Irving was limited in practice all week, but it sounds like he’s still not cleared for contact with that shoulder injury. We’ll see if he can make it back for Week 12’s game vs. the Rams. Irving’s absence again leaves the backfield to Rachaad White and Sean Tucker. The carries have been split almost evenly between them the past two games (23 for White to 21 for Tucker), but White continues to control passing-game work.

Rachaad White Finds the End Zone Twice Without Bucky Irving

Buccaneers RB Rachaad White was the bellcow for the Buccaneers, playing 80.3% of snaps with Bucky Irving sidelined with an injury. He handled 75% of the backfield touches (with Sean Tucker handling the other 25%). White’s rushing line ended up at 14-41-2 while he caught all four of his targets for another 30 yards.

Bucky Irving Out For Week 5

Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving (foot, shoulder) did not practice all week and is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Seahawks. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported Friday morning that Irving could miss multiple games with the foot injury. His absence leaves Tampa Bay’s backfield to Rachaad White and Sean Tucker. We’re expecting White to be the lead on early downs and dominate passing-game work. He gets a Seattle defense that’s been tough against the run but has allowed the most catches and receiving yards to RBs.

Bucky Irving Could Miss Multiple Games

Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving (foot) is expected to miss Sunday's game vs. the Seahawks and "is in danger" of missing Week 6, too, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. We still don't have many details on Irving's injury, but he was on crutches and in a walking boot on Wednesday, so it's no surprise that this could be a multi-week deal. He's worth keeping stashed in all fantasy leagues, but plan on being without him for at least the next two weeks. Tampa Bay's bye is not until Week 9. We're expecting Rachaad White to operate as the Bucs' clear lead back this weekend, with RB Sean Tucker mixing in on early downs. See where both guys land in the Week 5 RB Rankings.

Bucky Irving "Week To Week" With Foot Sprain

Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving is considered "week to week" with a foot sprain, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The team doesn't believe it's a long-term injury, Schefter adds. Irving seems unlikely to play vs. the Seahawks this weekend, though, and could miss multiple games. Tampa Bay's bye isn't until Week 9. Here's our breakdown of what the Bucs backfield might look like without Irving.

Bucky Irving On Crutches On Wednesday

Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving (foot/ankle) had a boot on his left foot and was on crutches at Wednesday's practice, according to Fox Sports' Greg Auman. We're still waiting for more details on Irving's injury, but he's looking unlikely to play vs. the Seahawks this weekend. That'd leave the backfield to Rachaad White and Sean Tucker.

Bucky Irving Iffy For Week 5 With Foot/Ankle Injury

Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving's Week 5 status is uncertain due to a foot/ankle injury suffered in last week's loss to the Eagles, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Irving is still getting additional opinions on the injury and hasn't been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Seahawks. "But he’s sore and his status is up in the air," Garafolo adds. We'll keep a close eye on this one throughout the week, but RBs Rachaad White and Sean Tucker need to be rostered in virtually all fantasy leagues. White would be the better fantasy bet if Irving misses time, but Tucker would also figure into the backfield on early downs. Remember that he exploded for 192 total yards and two TDs on 17 touches when White missed Week 6 last year.

Bucky Irving Getting MRI For Undisclosed Injury

Buccaneers HC Todd Bowles said Monday that RB Bucky Irving is one of several players scheduled for an MRI. Bowles gave no other details about Irving's status. He appeared to tweak an ankle in the second half of Sunday's loss to the Eagles, but no injury was reported during or after the game. We'll update Irving's status when we know more, but RB Rachaad White and even RB Sean Tucker are worth rostering in the meantime.

Bowles: Rachaad White Is "Day To Day"

Buccaneers HC Todd Bowles labeled RB Rachaad White "day to day" with the groin injury he suffered in the preseason opener. White did not practice on Monday, but it sounds like he avoided a significant injury. We'll let you know when he gets back on the field. White remains Tampa Bay's No. 2 RB for now, but Sean Tucker is pushing for a bigger role.

Rachaad White Leaves With Groin Injury

Buccaneers RB Rachaad White suffered a groin injury in Saturday's preseason game. He limped off the field and fell on the sidelines before being attended to by trainers. We'll update White's status when we know more. If he's forced to miss regular-season time, it certainly wouldn't hurt RB Bucky Irving's touch upside and would turn RB Sean Tucker into an upside bench stash.

        Bucky Irving Out Again Thursday

Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving (hip, back) remained sidelined for Thursday's practice. He played through these injuries last week but isn't guaranteed to play vs. Las Vegas on Sunday. Irving's absence would leave Tampa's backfield to Rachaad White and Sean Tucker. We'll update Irving's status again by Friday afternoon.

Bucky Irving Questionable For Week 9

Bucs RB Bucky Irving (toe) is listed as questionable for Monday night's game vs. the Chiefs. He only got in a limited practice on Saturday. HC Todd Bowles said earlier this week that this is an injury Irving will need to manage all season. He played -- and played well -- in spite of the injury last week. We're expecting Irving to play on Monday, but that late kickoff makes it a trickier situation for fantasy managers. If you're hoping to start Irving, you'd ideally have RB Sean Tucker rostered as insurance.

Bucky Irving On Track To Play Week 8

Bucs HC Todd Bowles said Friday that RB Bucky Irving (toe) is expected to play vs. the Falcons this weekend, barring a setback. Irving returned to practice on Friday after missing the previous two days. The foot injury adds some risk to his Week 8 fantasy profile, but Irving is still in the RB3 mix with Tampa Bay missing WRs Chris Godwin and Mike Evans.

        Bucky Irving Out Again Thursday

Bucs RB Bucky Irving (toe) missed practice again on Thursday. SI Now's JC Allen reports that the Bucs are expecting to be without Irving for Sunday's game vs. the Falcons. His absence would turn a three-man committee into a two-man committee with Rachaad White and Sean Tucker. In that case, White would be a more comfortable fantasy starter, while Tucker would be a RB3 or Flex option. We'll see how Irving is listed on the final injury report tomorrow.

Mike Evans Expected To Miss Next Three Games

Bucs WR Mike Evans is expected to miss the next three games with his hamstring injury, HC Todd Bowles said. Tampa Bay gets the Falcons, Chiefs, and 49ers the next three weeks before a Week 11 bye. It sounds like Evans has a good chance to be back for Week 12.

Sean Tucker Forcing Way into Backfield Plan

Buccaneers RB Sean Tucker had 53 total yards for his young NFL career before Sunday's game. But then he racked up a 14-136-1 rushing line and 3-56-1 receiving in the offensive explosion against the Saints. What's that mean for when RB Rachaad White returns from injury? HC Todd Bowles says the second-year back has earned a spot in the rotation.
