Smith back at practice

Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith (leg) returned to practice on Tuesday. He ended up missing about 2 weeks. WR Marquez Callaway impressed in Smith's absence, but we're curious to see how things shake out between those 2 now over the next few weeks.

WR Tre'Quan Smith has re-signed with the Saints on a 2-year deal. It has a base value of $6 million with another $4.5 million available via incentives, according to ESPN's Field Yates. Smith has flashed on occasion but has yet to hit 500 receiving yards through 4 NFL seasons. He'll battle Marquez Callaway and Deonte Harty for targets behind Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara this year.

Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith (hamstring) has been designated to return from IR. He's been out since hurting his hamstring a few days before the season opener. He'll return to practice this week, although it's unclear if he'll play vs. the Seahawks on Monday night. Smith isn't worth grabbing off the waiver wire now, especially with WR Michael Thomas expected back within the next few weeks.

Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith is out for Sunday's game against the Packers after hurting his hamstring in practice this week. With WR Michael Thomas also out, New Orleans is down to WRs Marquez Callaway, Deonte Harris, Lil'Jordan Humphrey and Chris Hogan. Callaway should dominate targets and is a nice Week 1 fantasy play.

Update: Smith has been placed on IR, so he's out for at least the season's first 3 weeks.
