Rams RB Kyren Williams was back on the field for Thursday's practice. He missed some time earlier this offseason with what HC Sean McVay called a "foot issue." McVay said then that Williams would be out until training camp, but he's clearly well ahead of schedule.
This foot issue isn't a concern for Williams' 2024 fantasy value, although it's worth noting that he remains one of the biggest injury risks at his position. Our Injury Predictor gives Williams an 88.7% chance of injury this season (fourth-highest among RBs) and 3.48 projected games missed (most among RBs).
We'll see how he holds up throughout training camp, but we continue to expect a healthy Williams to remain the Rams' clear lead back, despite the addition of rookie RB Blake Corum. Williams was excellent in his breakout 2023 season, ranking top 10 among 49 qualifying RBs in yards per carry, missed tackles forced per attempt, yards after contact per attempt, NFL Next Gen Stats’ Rush Yards Over Expected Per Attempt, and Pro Football Focus rushing grade.
Williams' best-ball ADP has slipped into the early third round. Expect that to climb at least a bit now that he's back on the field.
Williams remains a solid target anywhere in the back half of Round 2.
