Browns QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson will be the starting QB this week against the Bengals. QB Jameis Winston was benched against the Chiefs after throwing three interceptions, replaced by Thompson-Robinson. The Browns will get another look at the young QB this week.
Brad Stainbrook of the Orange Brown Report: "A source has informed the OBR that the Cleveland Browns will be starting quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson at quarterback this week against the Cincinnati Bengals."
Jameis Winston was a volatile player with his tendency to throw interceptions and take sacks, but he was much better for the fantasy performances of WR Jerry Jeudy and TE David Njoku.
Thompson-Robinson is an underwhelming presence, having thrown just one TD to seven INTs in his 146 career passing attempts.
The one hope for Thompson-Robinson's fantasy success is for him to use his 4.56 speed on designed runs and scrambles to add fantasy value, but he only averages just over 10 yards rushing per game in his career.
Playing as the starter with a full week of preparation may lead to a tad more rushing, but it will be difficult to rely on Thompson-Robinson as anything more than a Superflex option.
He also kills the potential value for the Browns pass catchers, even in a great match-up against the Bengals this week.
