Tyreek Hill Expected To Be Fine For Week 1

Pro Football Network's Adam Beasley confirms that Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill (thumb) is fully expected to be ready for the start of the season. Hill had a protective brace on his right thumb on Tuesday and will not practice on Wednesday. But the Dolphins "do not have a high level of concern" about the injury, per Beasley.

        What They're Saying

HC Mike McDaniel on Hill's situation: "There’s certain situations where you’re in training camp, and you’re practicing, and, you know, Tyreek could practice today. However, there’s also times that because of the timing of where their bodies are at kind of puts them at risk to get further injury. And so it’s really from a medical standpoint, you’re just trying to let something cool down. So you don’t have something happen at the expense of regular-season games. So he’s been very active. But we’re trying to make sure we keep out of harm’s way."

This looks like a case of a team playing it extra safe with a star veteran. We'll keep a close eye on Hill's status over the next couple of weeks. But, for now, consider his fantasy stock unaffected. He remains No. 2 in the WR rankings.
