Giants WR Malik Nabers caught five of seven targets for 66 yards against the Minnesota Vikings. He was the second most targeted player on Giants, behind WR Wan'Dale Robinson who caught 6 of his 12 targets in the game.
The rookie, Nabers, was clearly the most talented WR for the Giants in the game against the Vikings. Getting down early in the game forced QB Daniel Jones to chuck the ball 42 times in the game, often looking to Nabers down the field.
Unfortunately, the poor QB play capped Nabers upside since the Giants did not score a TD in the entire game. Despite being able to get open on slants and some double moves, he didn't always get an opportunity to catch the ball.
The Giants offensive line were given problems by the Vikings pass rush and Jones often had little time to get the ball out, especially when they were forced to pass late in the game.
Next week will be the ultimate test as the Giants draw the Washington Commanders, who should have an awful secondary. This will be an opportunity for Jones to settle in and find Nabers early and often, hopefully for a score in Week 2.
