Vikings HC Kevin O'Connell said QB J.J. McCarthy (knee) will have "no limitations" for the start of the offseason program this week. McCarthy missed his rookie season with a meniscus injury that required surgeries in August and November. But it sounds like a non-issue moving forward.
O'Connell on McCarthy: "I'd consider him full. ... I want to credit J.J. for how he's handled these last two, two-and-a-half, three months or so where I think he's ready to hit the ground running as of today."
McCarthy remains on track to be under center for the Vikings come Week 1. While we've yet to see him play a regular-season snap, McCarthy was the 10th overall pick of last year's draft and had an impressive August before suffering the knee injury.
Just as importantly, he'll be piloting an offense that's finished top six in passing yards and TDs in each of O'Connell's three seasons. Minnesota returns an awesome pass-catching trio this season in Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and T.J. Hockenson.
