Brock Purdy Made Good Progress This Week

A source told ESPN's Adam Schefter that 49ers QB Brock Purdy (toe, shoulder) "progressed a lot this week." The team is still "not optimistic" that Purdy will be able to play Week 3, per Schefter, "but it’s not out of the question." Purdy notably avoided short-term IR, which means the 49ers expect him to miss fewer than four games. We'll keep an eye on his status this coming week. We're tentatively projecting QB Mac Jones to start the Week 3 meeting vs. Arizona, with Purdy the favorite to be back for Week 4.
