Buccaneers WR Emeka Egbuka didn't kill you if you used him in fantasy lineups vs. the Falcons on Thursday night, finishing with four catches for 64 yards. Both those marks -- and Egbuka's seven targets -- ranked second on the team behind only WR Mike Evans. But a deeper dive into Tampa Bay's WR usage in this one reveals a major concern for Egbuka going forward.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
The Bucs got WRs Mike Evans and Jalen McMillan back for this one, marking the first time all season that they've had those two, Egbuka, and Chris Godwin all available.
And the team opted for a heavy rotation at the position. Godwin was a full-timer, but Egbuka, Evans, and McMillan were not. Here's how the route rates shook out:
- Godwin: 95%
- Evans: 70%
- Egbuka: 63%
- McMillan: 50%
Evans' playing time is a good bet to climb going forward. (He was at an 86% route rate over the first three weeks of the season.) And McMillan could also get more work, especially after catching both of his targets for 38 yards vs. Atlanta.
At minimum, it's tough to imagine Egbuka getting more playing time in Week 16. And he could get less.
Egbuka at least continued to draw targets at a high rate in this one (28%). But the playing time will make him very difficult to trust in Week 16 fantasy lineups, especially in a matchup with Carolina's seventh-ranked WR defense.
We'll look at the WR usage in that one before evaluating his fantasy prospects in Week 17's better matchup against the Dolphins.
