Josh Jacobs Headshot

"This is the best I've felt in six weeks." That's what Green Bay RB Josh Jacobs said Wednesday, according to ESPN's Rob Demovsky. The Packers writer adds that Jacobs has been "dealing with a swollen and stiff knee." Jacobs is off the injury report for the first time since Week 11.

Fantasy Football Impact

He left that Week 11 win over the Giants early with the knee injury, and then saw uneven playing time and usage the rest of the way.

Here were Jacobs' per-game averages through Week 10:

  • 18.0 carries
  • 67.6 rushing yards (3.8 per rush)
  • 1.2 total TDs
  • 3.1 receptions
  • 26.3 receiving yards (8.5 per catch)
  • 18.3 expected PPR points (third among RBs)

From Week 13 on:

  • 13.0 carries
  • 56.2 yards (4.3 per rush)
  • 0.6 total TDs
  • 1.6 receptions
  • 9.0 yards (4.5 per catch)
  • 11.1 expected PPR points (tied for 30th)

Jacobs garnered 17+ carries in two of his five games since the injury but saw 12 or fewer in each of his final three regular-season contests. That span included both meetings with the Bears, with very different rushing usage:

Week Att Yds TDs RB Att % Snap %
14 20 86 1 87% 72%
16 12 36 0 44% 39%

This week looks like it'll pit a healthier Jacobs against a Bears defense that ranks 28th in rush DVOA and 25th in total DVOA.

Jacobs looks like a strong play for Wild Card Round lineups and potentially helpful option for full-playoffs fantasy teams.

It'll help further that the team expects to get RT Zach Tom back from a Week 15 injury.

Green Bay heads toward the weekend as a slight road favorite over Chicago.

Rankings Movement

Jacobs got a slight projections boost but already sat high in our RB rankings for this week.

You can find our rankings for full-playoff drafting here.

Projected ADP Movement

Jacobs sits ninth among RBs in best-ball ADP for full-playoffs drafting on Underdog and RB12 on Drafters. That makes him a solid to strong target in those formats.

Targeting him now makes sense before the Green Bay RB potentially moves up as we get closer to his Saturday kickoff (and more drafters become aware of Jacobs' improved health).
