WR Mike Evans plans to play in 2026. That's what ESPN's Kimberley A. Martin reports hearing from the player's agents. Evans has spent his entire 12-year career with the Buccaneers but is set to hit free agency in March. He'll turn 33 in August.
What They're Saying
Martin: "His agents Deryk Gilmore + Darren Jones tell me the future HOFer will play this upcoming season -- and *will* explore his free agency options."
Jenna Laine of ESPN, in December: "Mike Evans said that his broken collarbone injury was a 'kind of a blessing in disguise' saying, 'I missed the game more than I thought I would.'"
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
Evans has proved durable and consistent across his career but has lost 12 games to injuries over the past two years.
A hamstring injury sidelined the veteran wideout for three games in 2024. This past season saw Evans leave Week 7 with a concussion and broken collarbone.
He returned for the final four games, but exceeded 34 receiving yards in just one of them.
We'll be watching both where Evans lands and what he commands in salary. The former will indicate the available upside. The latter will point to not only his team's plans, but also Evans' general market.
Evans sits 43rd among WRs in our PPR rankings at the moment.
He's WR35 in Underdog Fantasy ADP. That makes him a guy you can draft but not a player you need to target in best ball.
