Giants RB Cam Skattebo said on a recent appearance on the Rich Eisen Show that he's running at about 75% as he works back from his right leg and ankle injuries. "I can get away from like a baby hippo, maybe," Skattebo added. "That's about it. But, yeah, a little bit over a jog. Just kind of striding out, not exploding yet and getting into that part of the game, but the jog and the striding." Skattebo expects to be back to 100% in "about a month" and ready to go for training camp.

We'll continue to keep a close eye on Skattebo's recovery. All signs point to him being ready for the start of the season, although we're not fully convinced that he'll truly be back to 100% come Week 1.
Outside of the injury, it's been a nice offseason for Skattebo ... so far. The Giants hired run-leaning HC John Harbaugh, signed FB Patrick Ricard, and have not made any additions to the backfield.
The elephant (hippo?) in the room is the Giants' fifth overall pick in this next month's draft. Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love could be staring them in the face there. That move would torpedo Skattebo's fantasy value.
If he dodges Love, though, Skattebo will be the favorite to open the season as the Giants' lead back -- and boast RB2 appeal in fantasy drafts.
