The Browns haven't signed or traded for a QB this offseason. As a result, Zac Jackson of The Athletic belives "it's fair to assume that [Shedeur] Sanders will get at least some runway" to be QB1.
What They're Saying
Jackson adds that it "seems likely" the Browns will add a QB in the draft, even mentioning a potential trade of second-year passer Dillon Gabriel. The Browns pick sixth and 24th in April's daft, with the latter pick a realistic spot for Alabama QB Ty Simpson.
Here's more from Jackson (via The Athletic):
..."Two weeks ahead of the start of the formal offseason program, it seems like a Sanders versus [Deshaun] Watson competition with Gabriel an outsider and a potential rookie passer joining the mix..."
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
Nobody should count on Sanders for 2026 fantasy value.
He finished as a top-15 fantasy QB only once in seven rookie starts. Even if you project some growth, this Cleveland offense remains thin at WR, with Jerry Jeudy, Cedric Tillman, and Isaiah Bond the potential top-three.
We'll certainly see Cleveland add WR talent -- perhaps with their sixth overall pick. But factor in what still looks like a below average O-line, and the environment is poor for fantasy production.
