Texas A&M Edge Cashius Howell landed with the Bengals in the second round of the draft. Howell spent three years at Bowling Green before two seasons with the Aggies. He tallied career highs in sacks (11.5) and tackles for loss (14.0) in his final campaign.
What They're Saying
NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah: “Howell is an undersized edge rusher with outstanding twitch, tenacity and production. … As a pass rusher, he wins in a variety of ways. … He plays with a nice blend of violence and awareness.”
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
Size is the key issue here. Howell stands just 6’2.5 (19th percentile among edge players at the Scouting Combine since 1999) and 253 pounds (25th). He also owns the second-shortest arm length ever measured at the position at the Combine, leading only classmate Caden Curry (by one-eighth of an inch).
None of that dooms Howell, of course. But it’s hard to imagine him finding a full-time NFL role, especially right away.
Don’t expect to find Howell in draftable range for most redraft IDP leagues.
Dynasty Impact
There’s obviously more room for Howell to potentially develop in dynasty, but he probably ain’t getting any bigger. That means the same kind of limitations over the longer term, and his college production matched up with those concerns.
Howell looks like a player who -- at best -- will prove more valuable to his NFL team as a situational rusher than to IDP managers.
I’m not interested.
