Cincinnati WR Jeff Caldwell signed with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent. Caldwell’s profile is built on size and athleticism. The 6’5, 216-pounder registered a perfect 10.0 Relative Athletic Score at the Combine, fueled by a 4.31-second 40 time and a 42-inch vertical. That speed showed up in his 14.9 yards per catch last year. Caldwell’s overall production profile is lacking, though. He spent his first four college seasons at FCS Lindenwood, finally breakout out for 1,032 yards and 11 TDs in 2024. Caldwell transferred to Cincinnati this past year and finished third on the team with 478 receiving yards and second with six TDs. His 19.0% dominator rating ranked just 35th among the 49 WRs invited to the Combine. Caldwell boasts a large catch radius, to go along with the size/speed combination. But his catch and route technique need work.
What They're Saying
Draft Sharks Rookie Guide: “Caldwell projects best as a vertical Z receiver, but his route running, hands, and contested-catch skills remain raw. He delivered one of the best Combine performances ever, earning a 9.99 Relative Athletic Score.”
Dynasty Impact
We’re a little surprised Caldwell went undrafted, just based on that truly elite combination of size and athleticism.
That, plus the shaky production profile, makes him a poor bet for real dynasty value. But landing with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs keeps the light on.
We’ll see if Caldwell can flash this summer and earn a roster spot on a depth chart that probably has four locks in Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, Tyquan Thornton, and Jalen Royals.
Caldwell is a bet-on-traits project and just a taxi-squad stash on dynasty rosters.
