Bears HC Ben Johnson gushed about WR Luther Burden after Thursday's OTA session. "I’m buying Luther Burden stock right now," Johnson said. "Just how he’s approached this offseason, it’s been electric."
What They're Saying
More from Johnson on Burden: "He looks like he’s playing at a different speed right now. And you knew he had it in him. He’s a 4.4 guy. And, yet, those time speeds don’t always translate to real speed, football speed, the game tape. So, I think we’re starting to see that now. He’s not thinking as much, he knows what we’re trying to do. You kinda see that with a number of these guys… the game’s slowing down for ‘em and it allows their abilities to come out.”

2026 Fantasy Football Impact
Burden never captured a full-time role as a rookie last year. But the per-route numbers were impressive. Among 76 WRs with 50+ targets, he ranked:
- 11th in targets per route (0.26)
- 3rd in yards per route (2.83)
D.J. Moore's departure creates a big opportunity for Burden this year. Moore led the Bears in routes (512) and finished second in targets (82) last season.
Burden is all but guaranteed an every-down role alongside WR Rome Odunze this year. If he takes his game up a notch, as Johnson clearly believes will be the case, Burden could be in for a big 2026 breakout.
He's not cheap, with a fourth-round, WR21 ADP. But Burden is capable of paying off that price.
