Colts WR Alec Pierce stopped short of guaranteeing that he'll be ready for Week 1 on Wednesday. He said that he expects to be back at some point during training camp and "hopes" to be ready for the opener, according to Locked On Colts' Jake Arthur. Pierce also revealed that he had his ankle surgery in March and was given a 4-6 month timeline for return.

When GM Chris Ballard revealed Pierce's ankle surgery back in April, he said the WR would be back in three months and ready for training camp. So Pierce's update today is a surprise.
The short end of his 4-6 month timetable would have him back on the field in July, but the long end would stretch into September.
It's worth remembering that the Colts gave Pierce a four-year, $114 million deal in March, so there clearly wasn't any concern about the ankle at this point.
We're not moving Pierce in the WR rankings now, still projecting him to play Week 1. But his status will be worth watching closely throughout August.
