Ladd McConkey Headshot

The Athletic’s Daniel Popper writes that Chargers WR Ladd McConkey is “poised to return to his 2024 levels of production.” McConkey racked up 82 catches, 1,149 yards, and 7 TDs in 2024, good for a WR18 finish in PPR points per game.

What They're Saying

Here’s more from Popper (via The Athletic):

“McConkey has the skills to operate in some of the same ways Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle did in Miami under [new OC Mike] McDaniel. The offensive scheme will get McConkey on the move with pre-snap motions and shifts. McConkey will be able to use his route running and speed to create after the catch. He is the No. 1 option in this passing offense. As such, he is extremely important to the Chargers’ success this season.”

2026 Fantasy Football Impact

McConkey missed part of the offseason program with a hamstring injury, but he’s expected to be ready for training camp. (Veterans report to camp on July 28.)

A rebound season from McConkey is certainly in play, especially if the team doesn't re-sign Keenan Allen. His absence would remove 122 targets from the 2025 offense and leave this unit with Quentin Johnston, Tre Harris, David Njoku, and Oronde Gadsden II as the top pass catchers.

Our projections have McConkey for a team-high 21% target share, enough for him to sit inside the top-24 of our PPR WR rankings. He's just not a value pick in early drafts with his Underdog ADP at 3.12 as the WR17.
