TreVeyon Henderson Headshot

Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson has continued to struggle in pass protection in camp, according to The Athletic's Chad Graff. That was a big problem for Henderson as a rookie last year. He allowed 8 hurries and 3 sacks on 48 pass-blocking snaps, ranking 34th out of 40 qualifying RBs in Pro Football Focus pass-blocking grade.

What They're Saying: The Third-Down Question Lingers

Graff on Henderson: "It’s looked a bit like last season: big, explosive plays, but just enough mistakes in pass protection that it feels like a risk to use him on third downs. If he can improve in that skill, though, look out."

2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Expect Stevenson On Pass Downs

Henderson was an excellent pass-blocker at Ohio State, so we're not giving up hope that he can improve in that department as a pro. But it hasn't happened yet.

Backfield mate Rhamondre Stevenson was excellent in pass pro last year, ranking 5th among those 40 qualifying RBs in PFF pass-blocking grade. For now, we should expect Stevenson to out-snap Henderson on passing downs this season.

We're still projecting the backfield work to be fairly evenly split, though. In fact, Graff writes in the same article that he expects to see the Patriots backfield to be a "50-50" split.
