Nathaniel Dell Headshot

Texans WR Tank Dell practiced in pads Wednesday for the first time since his devastating knee injury in December 2024. He remained limited, catching passes from QB C.J. Stroud and running full-speed routes but avoiding contact drills.

What They're Saying: Texans Sticking to Plan

HC DeMeco Ryans, via ESPN's DJ Bien-Aime: "Tank is on the right plan. Nothing's changed in his plan. We're progressing him on really well. We expect him to just continue to progress with how he's feeling. There's no set way of doing it. It'll be based on how he's feeling. We'll do the right thing by Tank and make sure we approach it the right way. Take care of him the right way, so he can be feeling confident when he steps back out there for team drills."

2026 Fantasy Football Impact: He Shouldn't Be in Your Plans

Sounds like the Texans don't know for sure when that will be. And if Dell's return to team drills isn't certain, then his plan for the regular season certainly isn't.

You have to hope the young guy makes it back to full strength and gets his career back on track, but there's too much uncertainty to Dell's return path to make him worth much fantasy attention ahead of the season.

We'll keep watching for next steps, but expect to leave Dell on the waiver wire for common-sized redraft leagues.
