Just three days after trading for him, the Dolphins are waiving RB Jarquez Hunter, per Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post. Hunter arrived via a trade that sent Tutu Atwell back to the Rams.

Hunter is just one season removed from being drafted out of Auburn in the fourth round, and he entered rookie camp with some buzz as a possible depth chart climber.
Unfortunately, that buzz faded quickly.
Hunter played in just five games and logged 22 snaps, despite avoiding injury all year. All 22 snaps came on special teams, leaving Hunter with zero offensive snaps as a rookie.
This offseason, Hunter was traded by the team that drafted him and shortly after released by the team that acquired him.
That, combined with the lack of production and pedigree, leaves Hunter vulnerable to falling out of the league.
