QB Aaron Rodgers has been adamant that DK Metcalf needs to play a major offensive role. “We gotta get the ball to DK," Rodgers said Wednesday, according to Chris Adamski of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. He’s our No. 1 for a reason."
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Volume Hope, Efficiency Doubts
Metcalf's coming off the fewest PPR points per game (12.5) since his rookie year. His 20.4% target share was also the lowest he’s accounted for since his rookie season.
And this wasn’t new. Those same concerns showed up the year before in Seattle.
His production and efficiency have trended downward, with his points per game, target share, and yards per team pass attempt all decreasing in each of the past three seasons.
Metcalf is entering his second season with both the team and Rodgers, so it’s reasonable to expect improvement from the 28-year-old.
Still, being this offense’s "No. 1" doesn’t guarantee a high-end fantasy finish.
