Nearly a month ago, Emeka Egbuka went down in a joint practice with the Jets after getting rolled up on resulting in a toe sprain that’s kept him sidelined since. With the Buccaneers remaining optimistic he’ll be available for Week 1, Egbuka is expected to return to practice next week, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Week 1 Looks Reachable
Egbuka is coming off a rookie season with over a 22.0% target share and 1.60 yards per team pass attempt, making him just the 25th rookie WR to hit those marks since 2006.
That led to 11.4 PPR points per game (PPG) which ranked second among rookie wide receivers last season only trailing top 10 pick Tetairoa McMillan.
He certainly holds the upside to take a large production leap heading into his second season, especially with the Buccaneers leading target earner Mike Evans leaving the team in free agency.
But if Egbuka is going to make the leap into being a high-end fantasy producer, he’ll need to be on the field to do so. As of now, with Egbuka expected to get a full week of practice before the team’s opening matchup against the Bengals, that appears to be the case.
