Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr. will be INACTIVE this Sunday against the Lions as the team has been actively negotiating a trade with him. It appears a deal is imminent (likely occurring between Sunday-Tuesday this week). But the team continues to take offers it appears and may be in negotiations with multiple teams. ESPN’s Adam Schefter notes that the Houston Texans are in the mix which would pair Harrison back with his college QB C.J. Stroud, but that is not announced or finalized at this point.
What They're Saying: Houston Is In The Mix
Ian Rapoport, NFL.com: “The Cardinals have fielded calls for the last few weeks centered around Marvin Harrison Jr. He'll be inactive this week as his tenure in AZ is over. No trade is finalized as of now. But he's expected to be traded.”
Adam Schefter, ESPN: “One team that has had Marvin Harrison trade talks with Arizona is Houston, sources tell me. Houston has been, and is thought to be, square in the mix for Harrison. But as one Texans source said about the team’s interest in Harrison, “I can’t confirm or deny at this time.”
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Trade Won't Save This Season
A move to a new team truly can’t make things worse for Harrison. He has one game this year with no catches and two with a single reception. The Cardinals certainly haven’t looked his way, and Harrison appears uninterested on film.
He sits as a first read on only 9.2% of his routes, per Fantasy Points. That is less than the league average of ALL WRs (even ones that aren’t starters) at 10.6%.
It certainly won’t hurt Harrison’s fantasy value (he hasn’t been startable for you anyway) but the odds of him going to a new team and learning a new offense to become a WR3 or better this year are likely slim.
Other Winners & Losers: Michael Wilson Gets Fed
WR Michael Wilson was already reaping the benefits of Harrison’s scant usage, with 30 targets over the past two games. He will be in line for another huge target game against a weak Lions’ secondary.
QB Jacoby Brissett isn’t really hurt by this, so don’t question playing him against the Lions this week/
WR Kendrick Bourne could be an intriguing pick-up in 12-team-or-larger leagues. He has played 67.5% of his snaps from the slot, but currently sits third in the team in targets with 14. It could make him viable in easy slot match-ups as a streaming option this season.
We will see who takes over for Harrison. Jalen Brooks is the only other WR with targets so far this year, but younger WRs like Reggie Virgil and Simi Fehoko could be in line for more work.
Dynasty Impact: Sell If Buzz Spikes
Harrison’s dynasty value has bottomed out. If the new team does get anyone in your league excited, moving him for a 2027 second-round pick can certainly pay off (to reroll for another WR in a strong class)
Harrison’s lack of separation and effort are concerning and likely don’t get fixed in 2026 with a whole new scheme to learn.
If he does go to the Texans, things could get crowded in 2027 with Jayden Higgins set to return from his ACL tear.
