Bo Nix Headshot

The Broncos beat the Seahawks in spite of QB Bo Nix on Thursday night. He completed 17 of 27 passes (63%) for 107 yards. That’s a pathetic 3.96 yards per attempt. Nix threw just 3 passes farther than 10 yards past the line of scrimmage and completed none of them. Seven of his completions came behind the line of scrimmage. Nix added just 2 rushing yards for a dreadful fantasy outing.

2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Conservative Play Sinking Nix's Fantasy Value

This is the Nix we’ve been watching all season. He flat-out refuses to pull the trigger on downfield throws. Nix’s 4.9 air yards per attempt through 6 games ranks dead last among 701 qualifying QB seasons over the last 20 seasons, per CBS Sports’ Doug Clawson.

Nix has always been a risk-averse QB, but he’s taken that to the extreme this year. Perhaps he’s still not comfortable after his January ankle surgery, but we’ve seen no signs of improvement through 6 games. In fact, Nix’s 2 worst outings in both passing yards and yards per attempt have come these past 2 weeks.

He’s yet to finish a week better than QB11, and Week 6 will very likely be his fifth finish of QB18 or worse.

There’s no reason to roster Nix in 1-QB leagues at this point. He’s not even an exciting QB2.

The Broncos do get plus matchups in 2 of the next 3 weeks against the Cardinals and Panthers. We’ll see if that can kickstart Nix’s season, but we’re not particularly optimistic.
