D.K. Metcalf Headshot

WR DK Metcalf led Pittsburgh with 15 targets and turned them into 11 catches for 93 yards. That was good for 20.3 PPR points and a WR9 finish without a TD. His 35% target share came on 53 routes. With three of the team’s top-five receivers out, Rodgers leaned heavily on Metcalf and Germie Bernard.

It was a major rebound from Week 5, when Metcalf finished WR60 with 3 catches for 12 yards (plus an 11 yard rush). The catches were the encouraging part. After catching just 8 of 19 targets through the first two weeks, Metcalf caught 11 of 15 this week.

Metcalf drew a target on 28% of his routes, but the work came short. He averaged just 8.5 yards per catch and 6.2 yards per target without a TD. Pittsburgh used slightly more 12 personnel, and the TEs combined for 9 targets. Darnell Washington turned 6 of them into 4 catches for 25 yards and a TD, while Pat Freiermuth (calf) caught 2 for 11. With Michael Pittman Jr. on IR, Metcalf is the clear No. 1 outside target for Aaron Rodgers.

New Orleans allows the 22nd-most adjusted PPR points to WRs (29.2) and ranked 24th in our pass defense power rankings heading into Week 6. Cleveland allows the 11th-most PPR points to WRs, but its eighth-ranked pass defense power makes it the tougher matchup. Metcalf is a WR2 in Week 7 and a lower-end WR2 against the Browns.
