Texans RB Woody Marks operated as the clear lead back in Sunday’s win over Jacksonville, his first game without David Montgomery. Marks led Jawhar Jordan in snap share (78% to 22%), carry share (61% to 26%), and target share (10% to 3%). But his lackluster efficiency left fantasy managers wanting more.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Jordan, Not Marks, Finds the End Zone
Jordan looked like the more explosive back, beating Marks in yards per carry (7.2 to 3.7). Jordan also scored on a 25-yard run that showed his vision and cutback ability.
Both guys faced a tough Jacksonville defense that entered the week first in run defense DVOA.
We’ll see whether Montgomery returns for Week 7, but HC DeMeco Ryans called him “week to week” after Week 5. So it’s quite possible we see a Woods-Jordan backfield take shape again this week, with the possibility that Jordan takes on a larger role.
The Giants present a slightly favorable RB matchup this Sunday before Houston’s Week 8 bye. Montgomery figures to return after that, a development that'd cap Marks' early-down usage.
