Bengals TE Mike Gesicki tallied 4 catches for 76 yards and a TD in Sunday's win over the Titans. That marked the fifth straight game in which he found the end zone, breaking his own team record for consecutive scoring games by a TE. But does that mean we should be using Gesicki more comfortably in fantasy lineups?
Week 8 Offered Outlier Playing Time
Gesicki ran a route on 73.6% of Joe Burrow's dropbacks against Tennessee. That marked the first time this season he has reached 60% and followed games of 39.4% and 46.9%.
Gesicki's 6 targets looked healthy but ranked just fourth on the team and represented a mere 12.8% share of Burrow's 47 targeted passes.
That followed four straight games of single-digit target shares and a 0-target Week 2.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Still Not Production We Can Trust
Gesicki opened the year with an encouraging 5-78-1 receiving line. But his five games with a TD since have included 3, 3, 1, 1, and 4 receptions.
Combine that with the aforementioned limited route rates, and we're not talking about a good weekly bet for fantasy production.
We'll see if Cincinnati increases its passing volume going forward to counter a sluggish running game. That would obviously help Gesicki's available opportunity.
Until then, though, we'll remain skeptical of trusting him in our lineups.
