Justin Herbert Headshot

Chargers QB Justin Herbert threw for 257 yards in Sunday's loss to the Rams, with no TDs, 2 INTs, and a fumble (though his team didn't lose it). That marked a discouraging return from the Week 7 bye for the NFL's only winless team.

What They're Saying

The Ringer's Sheil Kapadia: "After today's performance, Justin Herbert is last in the NFL in EPA/Play. 30th out of 30 qualifying QBs. Barely edging out Daniel Jones. The Chargers have the worst offense in the NFL by EPA/Drive, and it's not close. The difference between them and the No. 31 Vikings is roughly the same as the difference between the Vikings and No. 22 Broncos."

2026 Fantasy Football Impact: More Like the L.A. Coolers

It's tough to blame OC Mike McDaniel for all the INTs Herbert's throwing. Sunday presented his third 2-INT game of the season and his seventh straight outing with at least one to start the year.

It was also Herbert's second straight game without a TD pass. He still has yet to throw more than one in any game this year.

L.A. told us over the bye week that they wouldn't be replacing the OC or even taking away play-calling duties. But it's fair to wonder how much longer this can go on without a change.

WR Ladd McConkey led the team with 86 receiving yards and 6 targets, tying for second with 4 catches. WR Quentin Johnston caught all four of his targets for 37 yards. TE Oronde Gadsden caught a team-high five balls for 52 yards.

The low-upside, low-floor offense continues to limit the whole group. Try to avoid starting these guys where possible.
