Chargers WR Ladd McConkey caught four balls for a season-high 86 yards in Sunday's loss to the Rams. His 6 targets marked a team high but accounted for just 20% of Justin Herbert's targeted passes. Coming off the Week 7 bye probably gave us the healthiest version of McConkey we've gotten all season, though.
The Stats Were Deceiving
McConkey's production probably wasn't as good as the numbers say. He compiled 54 of his yards on a hail mary reception at the end of the first half that found the WR securing a deflection and going down just short of the goal line.
Otherwise, McConkey tallied just 3 catches for 32 yards.
But he got season-high playing time. McConkey played 90.2% of the offensive snaps and ran a route on 94.6% of Herbert's dropbacks. He had reached a 50% snap share just once among his first five games and posted a 47.6% route rate entering Sunday's game.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Mild Upside in Better Health
A healthier McConkey should fare at least a bit better the rest of the way, though the continued offensive struggles will remain an obvious limiter.
The Chargers do get positive matchups for WR scoring the next two weeks but a negative schedule for WRs the rest of the way.
Expect to find McConkey around low-WR3 range of our rankings the next two weeks. We'll see beyond that.
