Lions TE Sam LaPorta managed just 3 catches for 33 yards on a 20% target share in Sunday’s win over Minnesota. That followed an even quieter Week 7, when he caught only 1 of 2 targets for 18 yards.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
We wouldn't put too much blame on LaPorta for his Week 8 dud.
He faced an elite Vikings defense that limits opposing TEs and offenses overall. Minnesota ranks second in total yards allowed per game and first in points allowed.
Jared Goff managed just 1 passing TD and a season-low 176 yards, making this an unusually quiet outing for Detroit's passing attack. Surprisingly, Goff faced pressure on only 24.1% of his dropbacks.
LaPorta draws a much friendlier matchup this Sunday against Miami, which ranks 26th in adjusted fantasy points allowed to TEs. Stick with him as a fantasy TE1.
