Carlos Hyde Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Jaguars HC Urban Meyer talked up RB Travis Etienne as a "matchup nightmare" after Jacksonville drafted him 25th overall. Meyer says the backfield plan is developing, which you'd expect at this point in the year. But he added (according to Jaguar Report): “I see Carlos [Hyde] and James [Robinson] the 1-2, downhill, powerful running backs. And I see Travis—there’s times where we could be in two-backs and Travis is a guy that goes out. Or we’re still playing with it, but he’s certainly a third-down back and he’s a guy that’s a match-up issue for the defense.” Etienne no doubt adds an element that neither Robinson nor Hyde provides. But the risk for fantasy football managers is obviously that he doesn't get enough touches to pay off as an early-round fantasy selection. We're downgrading the outlook for a guy who could have been the class' top fantasy option in a better landing spot.

The Jaguars signed RB Carlos Hyde to a 2-year, $6 million deal, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Hyde is reuniting with HC Urban Meyer, who he played under for his final 2 seasons at Ohio State. Injuries limited Hyde to 10 games and an 81-356-4 rushing line in Seattle last year. He topped 1,000 rushing yards for the Texans back in 2019 but will turn 31 in September. Hyde has never been much of a factor in the passing game, either. If this is the biggest addition Jacksonville makes to its backfield this offseason, it'll be excellent news for RB James Robinson.

Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny has been added to the injury report as questionable for Saturday's game vs. the Rams with a knee issue. He, of course, just returned a few weeks ago from his December 2019 torn ACL. Penny's absence this weekend would leave Seattle with RBs Chris Carson, Carlos Hyde and DeeJay Dallas -- with Alex Collins potentially being elevated from the practice squad.

Seahawks RB Carlos Hyde has been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the 49ers with a non-COVID illness. Rashaad Penny will step in as Seattle's #2 RB, but RB Chris Carson should pick up a few extra touches with Hyde out.

Seahawks RB Carlos Hyde (toe) is active for today’s game against the Packers. HC Pete Carroll said this week that RB Chris Carson will get more work today after being eased back into the mix against the Eagles last Monday night. That leaves Hyde as just a desperation fantasy play.

Seahawks RB Carlos Hyde (toe) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Giants after getting in limited practices on Wednesday and Friday. HC Pete Carroll expects Hyde to play -- but also said that RB Chris Carson will get more work this week after being eased back into the mix against the Eagles last Monday night. Hyde isn't looking like a viable Week 13 fantasy play.

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll said Monday that RB Carlos Hyde (hamstring) is ahead of RB Chris Carson (foot) in their rehabs. "I expect Carlos to make it for this week," Carroll said. And of Carson: "Chris is working to get back. He's trying to make it." We'll keep an eye on the situation over the next few days, but it sounds like there's a chance that Hyde is Seattle's lead back vs. the Cardinals on Thursday night.

The Seahawks' final Week 8 injury report lists RB Carlos Hyde (hamstring) as doubtful and RBs Chris Carson (foot) and Travis Homer (knee) as questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers. Hyde and Carson were unable to practice all week, while Homer only got in a limited practice on Friday. HC Pete Carroll said they'll go "all the way to game time'' before making a decision on these 3 guys. Hyde is obviously unlikely to play, and we're betting against Carson suiting up after he was labeled "week to week" by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport on Monday. We'll see about Homer. Rookie DeeJay Dallas is Seattle's only healthy RB and at this point looks like the favorite to lead the backfield in touches on Sunday. 49ers-Seahawks doesn't kick off until 4:25 pm ET, but hopefully we'll get an update on this backfield on Sunday morning.

Seahawks RBs Chris Carson (foot), Carlos Hyde (hamstring) and Travis Homer (knee) all remained sidelined on Thursday. We're getting closer to rookie DeeJay Dallas serving as Seattle's lead back vs. the 49ers on Sunday. Check back tomorrow for another update.

Seahawks RBs Chris Carson (foot), Carlos Hyde (hamstring) and Travis Homer (knee) all missed Wednesday's practice. That left DeeJay Dallas, who's on the injury report with an arm but put in a full practice, as Seattle's only RB. Carson isn't expected to play vs. the 49ers this weekend, while Hyde and Homer are uncertain. We'll continue to monitor the situation but recommend stashing Dallas in the meantime.

Chris Carson isn't the only Seahawks RB dealing with an injury. HC Pete Carroll said Monday that RB Carlos Hyde has tightness in his hamstring, and RB Travis Homer has a knee bruise. That leaves rookie DeeJay Dallas as the only healthy RB on the roster. Carson will miss Sunday's game against the 49ers, but we'll have to see about Hyde and Homer. Dallas is worth a wait-and-see stash in the meantime.

Seahawks RB Carlos Hyde (shoulder) isn’t listed on the final Week 7 injury report. He’ll return as Chris Carson’s backup against the Cardinals on Sunday night.
